Milk Painting 🍼
(Preschoolers activity)
🤓This science experiment will amaze visual and hands-on learners! Fill a plate or bowl with milk (higher fat content works best) and add a few drops of food coloring.
🤩 Next, dip a cotton swab or toothpick in dish soap, then encourage your child to swirl it around the colorful milk. It will create a marbled effect that’ll generate plenty of “oohs” and “ahhs” from your preschooler! (Be careful of over-mixing, though, or the masterpiece will turn brown).
🙃 You can also take this science activity for preschoolers one step further by making a pretty painting. Simply grab a piece of paper, dip it in the milk solution, and hang it up to dry. Voila! a piece of abstract artwork for your fridge!

🎨 BAGGY FINGER-PAINTING!
Activity from 12 months
Materials needed: Washable finger paint, a gallon-size zippered freezer bag, tape
🎨What to do:
Squeeze a couple of dark colors of washable finger paint into a zippered baggy and seal tightly. Add duct tape for extra security.
Spread the paint around to coat the inside of the bag, then place it on the floor in front of your baby during tummy time.
Show him how to make marks on the outside of the bag with his hand or finger.
🎨Skills learned: Sensory development, fine motor skills, understanding cause and effect, early writing skills.
Stacking the cups! 🥤
Activity for 7 years old and over.
✨What to do:
Take turns stacking the cups and knocking them down. You can also have a race, where you both stack cups at the same time.

🤩 Activity from 5 years old
“This is my solution”
With this activity, you can help your child develop the ability to find solutions to a problem and use language to communicate complex ideas efficiently.
🤩What do you need?
Something to decorate your child’s room or your house.
For example, a painting that your child made, a small chair, a night table, or a toy.
Show the item to your child and explain what it is and what it is used for.
Ask him to choose a new place to set the object. When he gives one option, ask what the reasons for his decision are.
Also, ask about what are the possible reasons why that place may not be the best idea.
If he is having difficulties finding reasons for the places, you can help him by giving some ideas.
Continue asking for possible places for the object until he has given at least five proposals.
Then ask him to pick his two favorites places and give a presentation to you, explaining each’s pros and cons.
Talk about how sometimes you can find several appropriate solutions for a problem, and in that situation, you can pick any of them!

The hidden shape 🔺
(Activity from 4 years onwards)
Your child is now able to identify and differentiate shapes, let's practice this ability.
🟡Materials needed:
Objects in the house with the shape of a rectangle, square, and triangle.
You will use about ten napkins or paper sheets.
1. Draw and cut the papers to make some shapes: rectangles, squares, and triangles.
2. Place the papers on a table, describe each shape, and name it
3. Then, place some objects from your house on a table. Then describe the object and name the shape that it has. For example, the mirror is a square, the cellphone is a rectangle, the napkin is a triangle.
4. Repeat a couple of times, then ask your child what shape each object has. Once your child is able to say the correct shapes for each object, tell him/her to close his/her eyes, and hide one of the papers.
5. Ask your child what shape he/she sees on the table, which one is missing? Celebrate when the answer is correct!
🟣Encourage him/her to try again if the first answer was not the right one.
Repeat the activity with the other shapes.
Let your child be the one who hides the object too!
FLYING! 🚀 (Activities from 12 months and over)
☀️What to do: Lay your baby belly-down across your lap, and place your hands around his midsection so he's fully supported. Then gently lift him up and move him up, down, back, and forth, like a rocket jetting into space. For extra giggles, add sound effects!

🌈Color Swirling 🌈
This experiment visually teaches about density.
👉🏽Mix a few tablespoons of vegetable oil or olive oil with food coloring, and pour the concoction into a clear glass of water.
👉🏽The oil will stay at the top, since it's less dense than water, while the food coloring falls into the water below. (This happens because food coloring is water-based, and therefore more dense than oil).
👉🏽The result is a marbling effect that looks like mini fireworks.

🌈Teach your child mathematical and scientific concepts with a simple water transfer activity.
🌈Using shovels, large spoons, buckets, or sponges, she can move water from one container to another. 🌈She can also count how many spoons of water or saturated sponges it takes to complete the transfer.
🌈Through this easy-to-facilitate exploration, children learn math concepts about counting and measurement of volume.

Water Painting 🖌💦
Your kids will feel like a secret agent with this water play activity!
Here’s how to do it: Have your child sit on the driveway, patio, or another concrete surface. Give him a bucket of water and a paintbrush, and let him draw on the ground.
The drawings will quickly dry up under the sun to teach the concept of evaporation.
Kids also develop fine motor skills and exercise creativity with water painting.

🎈With this activity, you can help your child develop his/her creativity and innovation, an important skill to solve everyday problems.
🎈Materials needed: Ask your child to choose and gather five objects from around the house randomly.

➡️Give your child some time to come up with a game idea and then ask him/her to explain the rules and objectives to you.

👂 While your baby is lying down, make some sounds near their ears, prompting them to turn and look for the source of the noise.
👶 This will help strengthen their neck muscles while also helping your baby improve their perception of the world around them!
🤩Breath and rain. (Activity for 3 years old and over)
This activity will help your child to learn to control his breathing. Breathing properly will have a profound impact on your child's brain development and self-control.
For this activity, you will need:
-An empty toilet roll
-Blue marker or blue paint
-Some white playdough or clay
-Five ribbons or strings of tissue paper (blue or white).
☁️ Invite your child to help you decorate the empty roll, paint it blue for the sky, and press some small balls of white clay to make some clouds.
✂️ Then, show him how you can attach one ribbon to the roll using the clay and allow him to do the rest of them.
🌈 Now is time to play with your creation, take turns to blow on it creating wind, making the ribbons fly!
This will be done in two different ways: one using shallow and fast breathing, and another one is taking a long, deep breath and blowing with a long and soft blow.
Keep taking turns and practicing controlled breathing until it becomes easier for him.

🧑🍳 Cooking with your kids is an excellent educational activity and can be extremely fun and bonding. You may not even realize how many concepts and skills they will pick up as cooking is a hands-on activity that engages all the senses.
🍪 Let’s try with peanut butter cookies!
(Activity for 3 years old and over)
🍪 Making these peanut butter cookies will provide a textural and sensorial experience as children have to mold the mixture into small balls.
🍪 This will also develop their fine motor control as they must learn to manipulate the mixture in their hands and learn the technique of rolling.
🌈Ingredients:
1 Cup peanut butter
1 Cup brown sugar
1 Egg
🌈Method:
-Combine the eggs, peanut butter and brown sugar in a bowl
-Roll the mixture into balls
- Place on a baking sheet
- Press a fork over the balls to create a pattern
- Bake at 180⁰C/ 350⁰F for 6-8 minutes

👧🏿Begin performing your child's preferred activity, explain that he/she will spend exactly 12 minutes doing it, and start the timer.
👧🏻Once she/he is done, explain: Do you see how time passed so fast when you are doing something you are motivated for? Motivation is the key, it allows our brains to produce the chemicals that help us focus on the task.
👧 Now, let's talk about this other activity (select a household chore, for example, feeding the pet, putting the dishes in the dishwasher, etc.)
👧🏽 Discuss the purpose of this chore and why it is important. Let the purpose of the activity be the motivation to do it for 12 minutes while keeping his/her focus as sharp as possible.
👧🏼 Start the timer and when done compliment your child for a great job!

Game time 🎈 A simplified version for kids that just started writing to allow every participant to finish writing. This game improves your kids' ability to perform an activity in a given time. 🎉LET’S TRY IT!🎉 -What do you need? You only need a sheet of paper and a pen. -What to do? 1. Write 5 categories (ex: name, color, thing, fruit, animal). 2. Once everyone has their sheet with the topics, they have to draw a vertical line between every topic, from the beginning to the end. It's a good way to make your brain think, and see how good your vocabulary is! 3. Randomly select a letter to start and type a word for each of the 5 different categories that starts with that letter. How many words can you form with this letter? 4. Once someone has finished, he/she has to say STOP! If there are repeated words among some players, they get 5 points for that word but if a player wrote a word that no one did, he/she will have 10 points for that word.
