Our Belgian Beer Tour meets for a Welcome Dinner in Brussels on September 15th and afterwards, we'll be heading down as a group to the world famous Delirium Cafe! The cafe is located in the Delirium Village, a group of themed bars down a narrow alley just a few blocks off the enchanting Grand Place market square.

It is best known for its extensive beer selection, which earned it a Guinness World Record in 2004 for offering the most commercially available beers—over 2,000 at the time.

The walls, ceilings, and every surface are covered with beer-themed memorabilia, including vintage signs, tin tackers, posters, coasters, and branded items. Colorful beer trays hang from the ceiling for added nostalgia.

I took this video during the day time hours in winter...during the high season, expect moderately sized crowds of beer enthusiasts from around the world!

Join us on our Belgian Beer Tour - Sept. 15th - 21st, 2025.

Many of our guests join our tours to celebrate life’s special moments—a milestone birthday, an anniversary, or the start of a new chapter like retirement. In 2024, Kara and Kyle joined us for Kyle’s 40th birthday, and we surprised him with a thoughtful gift: a custom Wiesn Herz or "Meadow Heart!" These decorative cookies are a beloved Bavarian tradition, especially during Oktoberfest, and can be personalized at one of the festival’s charming vendor stalls.

Why not make your special occasion unforgettable? Celebrate with us on our Oktoberfest and Bavaria Tour this fall! Share Bavarian traditions, raise a stein with friends old and new, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Ghent in Belgium certainly has a rich beer culture with classic beer cafes such as Dulle G***t, Het Waterhuis aan de Bierkant and the t' Galgenhuis (our personal cozy favorite). The architecture, though, is what really draws us back.

Ghent's medieval architecture is exemplified by Gravensteen Castle, a 12th-century fortress with thick stone walls and turrets, former home for the Counts of Ghent. Saint Bavo’s Cathedral combines Gothic and medieval styles, with its flying buttresses, spires, and intricate details, housing the famous Ghent Altarpiece. The Alterpiece is truly exceptional!

The Fish Market (Vismarkt) represents Neo-Classical architecture, built in the 18th century with symmetrical lines, classical columns, and Roman-Greco style statues adorning it.

Join us for a day of exploring Ghent's beautiful medieval character with some classic beer stops along the way on our Belgian Beer Tour - Sept. 15th - 21st, 2025.

As the year begins, it's the perfect time to reflect on great memories in good weather. Today, I’m reminiscing about our 2018 visit to Andechs Monastery Brewery, just a 1.5-hour train ride from Munich.

The monastery, perched on the "Holy Mountain," is surrounded by rolling hills, meadows, and forests, offering stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. The Andechs Bräustüberl, the monastery's rustic restaurant, served up hearty Bavarian classics like Schweinshaxe, Obatzda, and pretzels—perfectly paired with their famous beers. The beer garden, with its picturesque setting, was the perfect spot to relax.

Of course, no visit to Andechs is complete without sampling their iconic Doppelbock, "Andechser Doppelbock Dunkel," a Bavarian favorite known for its rich, malty flavor.

You can experience Andechs for yourself on our Oktoberfest and Bavaria Tour in September. Gather your friends and family—many of our guests join as groups of 4-8—and make it a celebration to remember!

Departing the Christkindl Market Tour, we had to go through the Munich airport. And not only is there a functioning brewery in the airport (Airbräu), there was also a rather sizeable Christmas market! Bavaria is full of wonders and beer!
I had to get my last Weißwurst Frühstück (white sausage breakfast) before leaving Germany, paired of course with a Hefeweizen. Gosh I love this meal.

Join us next year on one of our two tours to Europe and let us show our favorite places!

We figured this would be some great marketing to garner new followers for our beer-cations. What do you think?🤔 💭

“On the 6th day of Christkindl Markets Tour, our tour guide gave to me…”
A trip to Salzburg in Austria for a walking city history tour, free time to explore the markets, a drink stop at the Zipfer Bierhaus and our Farewell Dinner.
Our Farewell Dinner was superb! We chose St. Peter’s Stiftskulinariam, a restaurant built into the cliffside of Salzburg and dating back to the year 803.
We wanted to do something really special for the group so we arranged for a 4 Course Dinner for the evening with a wine accompaniment. It was all so delicious and the service excellent. The atmosphere of this restaurant could not be cozier, full of gemütlichkeit!

Thank you to all our guests for putting your trust in us on this Christkindl Markets adventure. We can’t wait to do it again.

Join us in December 2026 for our next Christkindl Markets Tour. We only offer small group tours, 8-12 people, so make sure you throw your hat in the ring early to secure your spot on this tour! We are taking names now and official registration begins in December 2025.

“On our 5th day of Christkindl Markets Tour, our tour guide gave to us…”
A cogwheel train ride to the top of the Zugspitze, Germany’s highest mountain peak!
It was a beautiful day, our only sunny day on the trip. We took a train to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, home to the 1936 Winter Olympics. We took the cogwheel train all the way to the peak of the mountain where we had lunch overlooking Austria on side and Germany on the other. From there, we took a cable car ride back down with a short stop in Garmisch to check out their Christkindl Market.

This was a deviation from our original plan to visit Mittenwald and take the cable car up to Karwendalbräu, a mountain top brewery, distillery and restaurant. Unfortunately, they had shut down the cable car for maintenance and then extended the maintenance to beyond our tour dates. This is why we work with local tour guides like Levi, the Thirsty Historian who can easily help us pivot to another experience. And you know, that is international traveling! You can’t be too married to an itinerary because it can and often will need to change due to conditions when you arrive.
Thanks Levi for providing such a memorable experience for our guests!

“On the 4th day of Christkindl Markets Tour, my tour guide gave to me…” Eisstockschießen reservations at the Hofbräukeller Bier Garten! As you can see, it is like a variation of shuffle board.
Why don’t we have this at bars in Wisconsin?! We are going to start a campaign!
Nobody knew what to expect when we said we were going to”curling” on our 4th night in Munich. It didn’t take long until cheers and smiles were abound. Definitely a unique experience for all of our guests.

Join us in December 2026 for our next Christkindl Markets Tour. Registration will open in December 2025 but you can get your crew’s name on our “Nice” list so you’ll have first dibs on reservations before we start actively promoting the tour.

“On our third day of Christmas tour, my tour guide gave to me…a day trip to Rothenburg on der Tauber!”
Doesn’t really roll of the tongue buuuuut…
We had a wonderful day in the medieval town of Rothenburg. This fortified, walled city overlooking the Tauber River in western Franconia is just magic.
We did a great and hilarious walking tour with local tour guide Harry Ernst of and then they had 3 hours to shop and explore on their own. Everyone said it was just a fantastic place to visit…and that’s why we chose it!

On day 2 of our Christkindl Markets Tour, we took the high speed train to Nuremberg for a tour of the old city and of the beer caves below it. We had an incredibly entertaining guide named Hannes who made our group laugh again and again with his jokes and quips.
We ate lunch and sampled beers at the Hausbrauerei Altstadthof before bringing the group down to the Christmas market so they could go out on their own and explore.
What a great place! Highly recommend you make a stop in Nuremberg someday…maybe even with us 😉
But hey, if you are doing your own trip, reach out to and he will entertain you with his stories about the city and its history.

We’ve landed! The group for our Christkindl Markets Tour met us in Munich on Monday for a welcome dinner at the Augustiner Keller. We got our own barrel of beer and one of our lucky guests got the opportunity to help tap our barrel. What an experience!
We drank and dined in the old beer storage cellars and had a grand old time!
Our local guide, Levi the Thirsty Historian, even arranged for the owner, Christian, to swing our table and welcome our guests to Munich.
It’s gonna be a great week!

Stuttgart’s Palace Square is really beautiful at night!
We returned from a day trip to Strasbourg and went out for the 2nd time to Carl’s Brauhaus, a modern Swabian restaurant adjacent to the square.
Swabia is a cultural, historic and linguistic region in SW Germany and resides in the state of Bavaria which encompasses most of southern Germany. The closest equivalent in Wisconsin would something bigger than a county, like the Driftless region or the Fox Valley. They have their own unique traditions, cuisine and dialect of German. Schwabia is adjacent to the Rhine River valley so it is a big wine region. I had an excellent Pinot Noir and Robyn had a very tasty and relatively dry Reisling.
One of their local cuisines is the Maultaschen, their version of ravioli. Robyn loved it so much, she had it twice at Carl’s Bräuhaus! I tried the Schwabenteller one night which is a breaded pork tenderloin and a breaded veal cutlet served with black beer gravy, a Schwabian ravioli and cheesy spätzle. The 2nd night, I needed something a bit lighter so I tried the Zarte Hähnchenbrust im Käse-Ei-Mantel or egg and cheese crusted chicken breast with a side of salad. Alles war sehr lecker!

Currently on the train to Munich so we can catch the Krampus Run at 3 pm and tomorrow we meet our group for the Christkindl Markets Tour with a welcome dinner at Augustiner Keller. Ich kann nicht warten!

Some pre-tour research in Stuttgart. We love it! The roofs of the chalets are all decorated (unique to any other market we’ve been to) and we loved the Finnish market with the open-fire cooked salmon and glögi (similar to glühwein.)
