Lady Grey is the brainchild of Gwynne Richmond and Courtney Smith. Both started life as performers. Wanting to explore new works and collaborate with creative people, Richmond and Smith created Lady Grey Theatrical, dedicated to developing new works and creating opportunities for emerging artists. Up Next is a developmental series called PostEd bringing together smart, creative, talented people to discuss, collaborate, and share new pieces!
Join the Celebration! Join the Berplonza! This brand new musical workshop will perform for the public January 23, 8:00pm at the 14th Street Y. Tickets: http://www.ladygreytheatrical.com/ #!the-last-berplonza/b4jxk
What is a Berplonza you may ask? The Last Berplonza tells the story of a young man who experiences a fall from grace, losing everything he thought he desired in life but finding something far more valuable. Set in the strange, dystopian city of Huga, where citizens are put into castes based on blossoms that flower from their bodies, the show explores questions of what virtue is, how we allow ourselves to be defined and what happens when one person dares to challenge the status quo. Lady Grey has brought together a stellar cast and creative team who, over the next two weeks, will develop this show, learning script changes, blocking, music, and choreography in the blink of an eye. On January 23 after the performance, Lady Grey invites you to join in the collaboration. Stay for the wine reception and talk back to discuss the work with the writers and creative team.
