It's official: Margaret River is now home to more 5-star wineries than any other region in Australia 🤩🍷 It was an amazing result for a relatively small wine region, taking out nearly all the significant awards at the 2023 Halliday Wine Companion Awards last week.

Congratulations to all the winners but particularly Glenn Goodall from Xanadu Wines and La Kooki Wines winning the coveted Winemaker of the Year. Deep Woods Estate was named Best Value Winery, while L_A_S VINO took Dark Horse Winery honours. Stella Bella Wines was awarded Chardonnay of the Year and Flowstone Wines won Sauvignon Blanc of the Year.

Sounds like it's time to crack a bottle to celebrate! 🍷🍇

Head to the Busselton foreshore on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 February to catch the action as kids, soloists and teams churn up the water swimming out into the deep and back. There's musical entertainment, a great atmosphere and the opportunity to cheer the athletes on - see you there 🐠🍦

Splendid fairy wrens sure live up to their name, with male birds shimmering in electric shades of violet-blue, turquoise and pale-blue. It's not all beauty parades and glamour, because males in non-breeding plumage and females are a mid brown, with just their tail feathers a dull blue.

There are plenty of Splendid fairy wrens in the Margaret River Region, sometimes shyly hiding in shrubbery, hopping out for a hot minute to dazzle us. The Berry Farm Margaret River, Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse, the Wadandi Track and Rotary Park Margaret River are just a few reliable blue wren hideouts. We’d love to know where you’ve seen them!
