Packaging custom peg dolls and throwing in a couple of extras 😉
GISH Item #127
(TIMELAPSE) The LGBTQIA community’s leaders let their True Colors show. Help us celebrate them: Write a message of love and support on a white t-shirt or banner, and then tie-dye it using Jell-o (gelatin) or Kool-aid powders. Post it on social media and tag @truecolorsunited on Instagram, @truecolorsunite on Twitter.
(Tap to watch) This weekend was a busy one filled with #GISH, the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt. I participated in my first mini hunt and completed a lot of fun tasks! Will share more in my stories later, but for now here’s the Sword in the Scone! It’s much easier to get the sword when a unicorn nibbles at the scone stone first 😜 🦄
Hope you’re having as much fun this weekend as our dog, Jacques 💕
Little recap of my public art project, #ornamentsforchange from last month. I’d love to hear what you thought of the project and any ideas for whether I should continue it in the same way in the future or try something else! The main goal is to spread joy and have YOU involved in what I’m creating. ♥️
Packaging an order! I always love this step, from adding a hand-stamped tag to choosing the washi tape and sticker to seal the package. I hope when you get an order from me it feels like a special gift, arriving as happy mail just for you (even if you’ll be then giving it to someone else!). We’re due for a lot of snow today in Michigan, so it’ll be the perfect day to get lots of these pretties wrapped and ready to ship 🥰 Stay warm, friends!
Sometimes I get mad because when I do little stop motions I can’t choose the cover I want. But you know what? My feed isn’t perfect, and neither are these jewelry boxes I made. But I think the girls will love them as Christmas gifts anyway! Plus, jewelry! I’d love to hear if you know local makers who do jewelry specifically for kids (both of the girls have January birthdays...!), so be sure to let me know if you have ideas. Meanwhile, enjoy this little quick video, my peek-a-boo moment, and the paint on my stomach (which is sticking out because I was slouching and also may or may not have had some wine 🤔). Have the happiest of holidays if you celebrate, my friends! 💛
Last night Josie and I went for a night walk and she was excitedly pointing out all the Christmas lights while hopping around and happily shining a little flashlight. For her that was certainly an adventure, and for me it made for a very sweet winter memory 😊 Hope you’re finding some adventures despite the pandemic, no matter how small.
From dowel to lacing toy needle, I’m having “reel” fun 😜😅
Happy first day of March! It’s a sunny day in Michigan and time for you to meet actress Hedy Lamarr.
I recently read a book about her called “The Only Woman in the Room,” and if you haven’t, you should! To be honest, I got kind of mad at the end of the novel because of how Lamarr was treated after an amazing breakthrough she made. (If you read it, maybe you can relate?)
The book not only gives you a peek into who Hedy Lamarr was, but it shows how far women have come since her time (though we’ve still got places to go).
I’ll be painting an inspiring woman peg doll every day for the month of March and sharing them with you weekly. Make sure and comment if there’s someone you want to see!
Hope you had a lovely holiday. Here is a fun little stop motion of the gift I made for one of my nieces, inspired by the memory game @learning.with.hazel posted about in a series of handmade gift ideas. I love how the forest animal tiles can be used as a memory game, but also for matching animal to animal, animal to word, or word to word. Did you receive any special gifts this year?
