Shepherd’s House in Witów by Zakopane 😍

🧀Oscypek (pronounced Osch-öpeck, Polish plural: oscypki), rarely Oszczypek, is a smoked cheese made of salted sheep milk exclusively in the 🗻Tatra Mountains region of Poland🇵🇱.

Oscypek is made by an expert named "baca", a term also denoting a shepherd in the mountains, another term „Bacówka” originates from that word and means „Shepherd’s house”🛖.

The cheese is a traditional holiday cheese in some European countries and is often pan fried and served with cranberry jam (in Polish: żurawina) on the side.

Today we visited Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory Museum in Cracow.

The Schindler's Factory is a former metal item factory in Kraków. It now hosts two museums: the Museum of Contemporary Art in Kraków, on the former workshops, and a branch of the Historical Museum of the City of Kraków, situated at ul. Lipowa 4 (4 Lipowa Street) in the district of Zabłocie, in the administrative building of the former enamel factory known as Oskar Schindler's Deutsche Emailwarenfabrik (DEF), as seen in the film Schindler's List. Operating here before DEF was the first Malopolska factory of enamelware and metal products limited liability company, instituted in March 1937.

Remember. August 23 🙏

On 23 August, on the anniversary of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, the European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Totalitarian Regimes is observed.

It was on that day in 1939 that an agreement between N**i Germany and the Soviet Union opened the gate to Second World War and all kinds of totalitarian violence: from forced migration through slave labour and war crimes to genocide, including an event unprecedented in world history – the Holocaust.��

The European Network Remembrance and Solidarity recalls today the victims of totalitarian regimes.

The aim of their "Remember. August 23" campaign is to cultivate memory of the victims of N**ism, Stalinism and all other totalitarian ideologies. By doing so, they also want to increase public awareness of the threats posed by extremist ideologies.

Another jewel 💎 of "Zakopane Style" architecture track 🗺.

The Chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Jaszczurówka, founded by the Uznański family, was built in 1904-1907 in the Zakopane style also known as Witkiewicz Style, based on a design by Stanisław Witkiewicz.

The building was erected by goral carpenters (highlander people, in polish "Góral") under the supervision of Aurelian Blacha, who was probably the designer of the main altar.

On both sides of the wood-carved altar there are colorful stained-glass windows - on the right, Our Lady of Częstochowa with the Polish emblem, and on the left, Our Lady of Ostrobrama with the Lithuanian emblem. The side altars by the folk sculptor Józef Janos from Dębno were added in 1954.

Tatra National Park of Poland 😍

Tatrzański Park Narodowy 😍

The Tatra Mountains 🏔️form a natural border between Poland🇵🇱 to the north and Slovakia🇸🇰to the south, and the two countries have cooperated since the early 20th century on efforts to protect the area. Slovakia created an adjoining national park, and UNESCO🗺️later designated the area a transboundary biosphere reserve🌲🌳🌿.
