🎬 FEDCHENKO, LE GLACIER OUBLIÉ

Voici l’affiche de notre dernier film, tourné cet été en Asie centrale. Accompagné d’une équipe tadjike, nous sommes partis à la recherche d’un glacier oublié et pourtant indispensable pour l’équilibre économique et politique de la région.

✍🏻 Synopsis : Cédric Gras et Matthieu Tordeur partent de la célèbre mer asséchée d’Aral pour remonter le cours de l’eau. Ils ont pour objectif le plus long glacier de montagne du monde, nommé Fedchenko. Long de 77 km, il est le symbole de ces centaines de langues glaciaires qui permettent la vie en aval, dans les déserts d’Asie centrale. Après avoir rejoint en train le Tadjikistan, Cédric et Matthieu s’enfoncent dans le puissant massif du Pamir. Accompagnés d’une équipe tadjike, ils vont sur les traces des premiers explorateurs par de hauts-cols et le chaos des glaces. Le réchauffement climatique a encore peu de conséquences ici et si la mer d’Aral s’assèche à 2000 km de là, c’est parce que l’eau de fonte est prélevée à l’excès depuis l’époque soviétique. Au bout de dix jours, Cédric et Matthieu atteignent une vieille station scientifique posée sur les rives du Fedchenko. Elle semble avoir été abandonnée hier par ses gardiens, au beau milieu de pics vertigineux. Les instruments de mesure et les objets du quotidien sont restés tels quels. L’URSS avait conscience du château d’eau que forme le Pamir pour les républiques d’Asie centrale. Un enjeu que Cédric Gras et Matthieu Tordeur redécouvrent devant la caméra de Christophe Raylat.
