Sikkim is also stepping towards Digital world in Organic Farming sector under compliance of National e-Governance Plan in Agriculture (NeGPA): Towards the Mission of Digital Agriculture.

Government of Sikkim has develop a platform to create a Unified Farmer Database in the name of Sikkim - AgricultureResource Management System (ARMS) which will help in achieving the below mentioned objectives:
● Creation of statewide unified farmers database
- Registration of the Farmer
- Farms Details, Farmers details
- Documents upload
- Unique Farmer ID (Kishan Parichai Patra)
- Number of farming lands with geo tagging and area of the land
- Type of parcha (Chain / Individual)
- The irrigation methods and soil type of individual lands.
- Type of crops & vegetables are grown in individual land
- Production of Crops & Vegetables in a calendar year
● Ease in policy formulation and decision making due to availability of consolidated farmer level information at the state level
● Facilitating centralised mechanism to check eligibility for a particular scheme/ service to ease farmers authentication with lesser documents requirements to prevent any leakages in the system
● Online beneficiary Tagging & Tracking
● Productive Incentive Scheme management system
● Providing centralized advisory information to farmers on the state and central scheme
● Creation of the employees database

3 Day long programme from dated 26/07/ 2023 to 28/07/2023 training com distribution of Mandarin orange under MOVCD scheme was conducted in collaborations with Kalej Valley FPO and Departmental intervention in presence of FPO President Mohan Karki, Deputy Director Horticulture Hemant Ghemeray,BTM Bibek Mishra where on dated 26/07/ 2023 Mass Distribution of Mandarin Orange was given to sub-tropical area's FIG(Farmer interested Group) of Martam,Berfok,Meyong,Bermiok Berthang ward from within Bermiok VLW centre.After next day i.e on 27th July Training cm Awareness Programme of Mandarin was conducted under Martam ward to those benefitted farmers and concern ward Panchayat.
And today on dated 28/07/2023 final programme was conducted in Bermiok Berthang ward where local farmers are showing keen interest to make good Orange Mandarin cluster within their area and sustain their ancestor's Organic Orange farming practices.
*Technical aspects for Mandarin healthy cultivation are as follows
1.Pit digging 1m*1m*1m (L*B*D)
2.Add surplus Farm Yard Manure
3.Mix FYM with soil and mulch it
4.Plant seedling with additional support of stick.
5. Planting Spacing 5*5m
6.Spray organic bio-fungicide,bio-fertilizer,bio-pesticide as per plant required.etc
7.Water availability care
Furthermore under MOVCD scheme will provide inputs to Farmer Interest Group for healthy growth of Orange with technical assistant.

Today on dated 21/07/2023,there was a Distribution cm Awareness programme on Large cardamom(variety-seremna) seedlings under Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region.The scheme aims at development of certified Organic Production in a value chain mode to link growers(Farmer Producer Organization) with consumers and to support the development of entire value chain starting from inputs, seeds, certification, to the creation of facilities for collection, aggregation, processing marketing and brand infrastructure.
And this programme was made successful in presence of Kumar Mishra (Sikkim Milk Union Chairman),Sanbir S***a (CLC President),Ganesh Psd. Sharma(Panchayat President), Hemant Ghemeray(Deputy Director),Bibek Mishra(Block Technology Manager)with concern staffs(Kailash Gurung and Kewal Gautam) of Bermiok where KALEJ VALLEY FPO played vital role in conducting programme and distribution of around nos. of 50k Large cardamom seedlings to Farmer Interest Group as reported.

Mandarin is a traditional fruit of Sikkim and it should be preserved,nourished with care. As it needs climate of subtropical humid with high rainfall in an elevation from 600 to 1500m amsl.The optimum temperature range is between 26°to 32°C and it's right time do plantation in this monsoon season.
An old man(Karki Bajey) of Martam ,West Sikkim planting Mandarin saplings for his upcoming generation and saying that it has preserved.
Today on dated 20/06/2023 Mandarin plantation drive was done with technical assistant of Horticulture Department by Dr Hemant (Deputy director) and Martam staffs.

It feels glad to know that some of our youths is obtaining agri-skills where programme was started from dated 28th November and Skill Training for Rural Youth and Farmers (STRY) in presence of project director , deputy director, Higher official and our HDO,ADO,BTM,ATM,GPU Incharge, panchayat dignitaries in Bermiok Berthang GPK .This programme will last for 4 days so if any interested youth/farmer can query related to agri-issues with our technical Officer.
As each young energetic youths are having fruitful programme in guidance of Suraj Chettri ADO(Agriculture Development Officer),Dr. Hemant Ghemeray HDO(Horticulture Development Officer),Bivek Mishra BTM(Block Technology Manger of Hee Martam where various concept of Organic farming,Natural farming,Zero budget farming , permaculture farming,Soil profile ,IPM(Integrated Pest Management),IDM(integrated disease management), essential macro and micro nutrients, climatic change impact along with numerous practical performance is conducted in making

indigenous technology knowledge -
*Jevamrut(natural liquid fertilizer)
*Bijamrut(seed treatment)
*Acchadana(mulching)
*Whapasa(moisture retention) and more on.
Skill Training of Rural Youth (STRY) is aimed at imparting skill-based training to rural youth on agri-based vocational areas in agriculture & allied areas to promote employment of rural areas and for creation of skilled manpower to perform farm.

Dragon fruit generally belongs to cactus species which is newly adopted in lower altitude(sub tropical region)of Chinthang GPU such in Berfok, Meyong,Megyong, Najur tinkatery and some lower region of Hee Martam Block. And it seems to be growing healthy and attaining good health in this season. As it can be propagated through cutting also. So in future numerous dragon fruit cultivations can be expected in our lower region which can create attraction to tourist and as well to the local urban people for consumption purpose.
Dragon fruit is very new,rare and unique farming concept in our Organic Sikkim. And it has multiple health benefits that may really shocks you but must be consumed as daily or weekly diet.
Numerous saplings of it were distributed by Horticulture department GoS in previous year and farmers are nourishing it for better income in upcoming days.
