Hiking along Washington's Green River Gorge is like hiking in a scene from a movie. The Green River Gorge in Washington State is a dramatic canyon carved by the Green River, spanning over 12 miles and reaching depths of 300 feet. Known for its emerald green water, sheer basalt cliffs and lush forests, it offers exceptional views and a few places to cool off for those willing to brave the frigid water. There are a number of trails that run along the river here and offer a look at waterfalls, unique rock formations, and the towering gorge walls as the green water of the river flows through. There are also the remnants of the old coal mining Franklin Ghost Town that can be explored nearby, along with Kanaskat-Palmer State Park and Flaming Geyser State Park.
