Hiking at Oakwood State Park was a success. I love meeting others who love the outdoors. Our conversations included the benefits of getting outside, other places around the country we’ve explored and where to hike next! Thank you ladies!

The New Year started by hosting a hike at Lake Poinsett Recreation Area. A great way to start the year and meet others interested in nature. The park provided some swag and I provided information on the parks progress and future plans. Explore a state park! There’s so much to see and learn.

Spanning 1500 acres along the Missouri river this area was donated to the people of South Dakota in 1984 by Mary and Maud. They envisioned the area as a place for inner renewal. Trail Tuesday! Lewis River Falls Trail in Washington and is a 3.6 mile hike with a 485 foot elevation change. The trail is along the Lewis River and a permit is required to hike it so make sure you plan ahead. Trail Tuesday! Lewis and Clark Bicycle/Pedestrian Trail is a 9.2 mile paved path along the shore of the Missouri River. The elevation change is very gradual and totals 242 feet. Kitch-Iti-Kipi is Michigan’s largest natural freshwater spring. One of the most mystical places in the Upper Peninsula. Its ever-bubbling teal-colored water has mesmerizing powers, something the Ojibwa discovered centuries ago.
