Michelle & Tj just returned from Dreams Natura in Riviera Maya. Here are there comments:
Good morning Joy,
I wanted to share my thoughts on this resort. The weather was great and the service was really good as well. I liked our room and the resort itself was smaller. This allowed for easy navigation and everything was relatively close together. I actually enjoyed that. The pools were great and they seemed to have some nice areas for people with small children.
The food was good, but not great. We felt it was similar to a Riu in this way.
The resort pretty consistently smelled of sulfur, which is not pleasant. The ocean in front of the resort apparently has something emptying into it on both sides, which leaves the water a brown color and we did not go in the ocean at all due to this. It was strange as outside the borders the resort set up in the water, it was very clear and beautiful.
Small things that I found strange were after we would have housekeeping come by earlier in the day, they would knock on our door in the evening to ask if we needed more towels. This happened every evening.
We also had an employee come in our room one night to make us turn on our porch light on the balcony.
I just found these things odd.
Overall we had a great vacation and enjoyed ourselves immensely. I would not choose to return to this resort due to the quality of the ocean in front of the resort and the sulfur smell. We are pool people, so it didn’t have much of an effect on us, but I do still like to walk on the beach and I avoided it due to this.
Thank you for your help planning this vacation! I am sure we will be looking to book another one soon!
Please reach out with any questions.
Michelle
***ODT Note: The ocean discoloration & Sulphur smell comes from the nearby Mangroves...essential & beautiful but heavy rains can make for the runoff after storms***
