One of the most important ways for me to provide you with the best vacation experience is through continued industry training.

I'll be spending this week in Orlando at the Crystal Conference, where I'll be networking with all of the suppliers and tour providers I collaborate with when planning your trip. I'm excited for a week of training to continue to learn and grow and to stay up-to-date on everything happening in the travel industry.

South America bucket list ⤵️

Some of the most amazing things that you can do in South America?

1️⃣ Salar de Uyuni: The largest salt flats in the world, found in Bolivia.

2️⃣ Machu Picchu: These incredible Incan ruins need no introduction.

3️⃣ Patagonia: Paradise for mountains and hiking, from short trails to the 8-day O trek.

4️⃣ Iguazu Falls: One of the largest waterfalls in the world, straddling the border between Argentina and Brazil.

5️⃣ Christ the Redeemer: This famous statue is one of the modern wonders of the world and is situated high above beautiful Rio de Janeiro.

"Why travel with kids if they won't remember it?"

Travel teaches my kids to step outside of their comfort zones, to try new things, to go with the flow, and to navigate challenges.

They experience and embrace different cultures, learn languages, and interact with and respect people from all walks of life.

They're learning to appreciate the environment and how to protect it and the beauty of the world around us.

And while they might not remember all of the details of every trip that we've been on, they are gaining an important perspective of the world. And I couldn't be more proud of the world citizens they're becoming.

The gorgeous region of Patagonia covers southern Chile and Argentina and is home to some of the most beautiful mountains and glaciers in the world.

Opportunities for trekking here are endless, from short kid friendly trails to the 5-day W trek and 8-day O trek.

The best time to visit is the southern summer when temperatures are more mild.

You can easily combine your trip to Patagonia to visit cities, Chile or Argentina's wine country, Iguazu Falls, or the Atacama desert.

Sometimes the longest, bumpiest roads led to the very best places. 🇧🇴

Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia is the world’s largest salt flat. Over 10,000 sq km, this desertlike area is covered with bright white salt as far as the eye can see. In the winter months, rain covers part of the flats, creating a stunning mirror effect against the sky.

This one has been on my bucket list for so long, and it was truly worth every bit of effort to get here.

Do you have your REAL ID?

REAL ID is finally becoming, well, real.

Starting May 7, all U.S. travelers 18 and older will need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license (or another TSA-approved form of ID, like a passport or military ID) to board domestic flights.

How to check if you have a REAL ID:
✔ Look for a star in the upper corner of your driver’s license.
✔ If there’s no star, visit your state’s DMV to upgrade.

What you’ll need to get one:
✔ Proof of identity (passport or birth certificate)
✔ Social Security number
✔ Two documents proving residency

Check your ID now to make sure you're ready to fly. ✈️

2025 marks the Jubilee Year for Rome, a sacred time at the Vatican. And while it will be a busy year for Italy, you can still have a great vacation by planning ahead.

The Vatican will remain open daily, and timed tours will ensure that you can still experience the Vatican itself, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica as usual.

Many hotels in Rome will fill up early, especially over the time of special Jubilee events, so advanced planning is important. However, the rest of Italy will remain relatively unaffected, so your plans will be smooth sailing!

It's no secret that travel costs more than it used to. But there are a few ways to ensure that you're getting the most value from your vacation budget.

>> Keep your dates as flexible as possible, and fly on weekdays versus weekends if you can.

>> Consider traveling during shoulder season, the time of year just before and after peak travel. In most of Europe, that's spring and fall, and rates will nearly always be better.

>> Step away from some of the major tourist spots and explore the smaller towns and hidden gems. In many cases, you'll enjoy fewer crowds and a more meaningful and local experience.

>> And work with a travel advisor (😉) that may be able to offer different ideas for how to get from A to B or advise on the things you might be able to skip and those you won't want to miss.

Planning a trip to the UK or Europe this year? 🛑

Starting January 8, Americans traveling to England, Scotland, or Wales will need to apply for an ETA (electronic travel authorization) prior to their trip. This applies to everyone, including children and babies, and even when just transiting through a UK airport.

The application process is simple and costs £10. Find 'UK ETA' through the app store on your phone or tablet. You'll provide your passport details and answer some questions, and you'll receive your approval within about 3 days.

Starting in May, the European Union will begin a similar ETA process, so stay tuned for details.
