Anyone else feel like fall is flying by? 🍂 We came back from an amazing adventure around Japan and the South Pacific islands (if Fiji is on your list, let's talk!), and my clients have been flying off on adventures of their own this month around Europe, Tunisia, Egypt, South Africa, and Costa Rica.

If your winter calendar is still empty, it's not too late to put together your next getaway. I'll help you decide on the best destination for you and take care of all of the planning details so you can simply pack your bags and enjoy.

Fiji sunsets 🇫🇯

What's not to love about Fiji? Postcard beaches, a range of beautiful resorts for everyone, laidback vibes, and plenty of adventures away from the sand.

Fiji makes for a perfect paradise all on its own or as a great addition to your vacation to Australia or New Zealand.

Did you see the news? Americans can now renew their passports online. 🎉 This system has been in the works for a while, so I'm thrilled to see that you can finally now save the added steps of going in person or mailing documents to get your passport.

If you're doing a name change or updating a child's passport, you’ll still need to apply in person, but for a simple renewal, this will be a major time saver.

What questions do you have about passports? ⬇️

Travel Tips for Japan 🇯🇵🍣

🚆 Getting Around

Foreigners can get a 'Welcome Suica' card at the airport. This is a card that you can preload with money and tap and go to pay for trains, at convenience stores and vending machines, and for some attractions. It's significantly easier than buying individual tickets each time you use a train, and it can be used all over Japan and reloaded as you go.

I highly recommend using Google Maps to navigate trains and transport around the country. Simply input where you are and where you're trying to go, and Google Maps will show you the best live train options to get there.

📲 Reservations

You should make reservations in advance for popular attractions and museums, as well as for restaurants like Ninja Akasaka and the Pokemon Cafe. However, there are plenty of places you can visit and dine at without needing to reserve anything.

For theme parks like Tokyo Disneyland and Universal Studios, always try to visit on a weekday if you can to avoid the heaviest crowds.

📷 What to Do

Everything! There is so much to do in Japan that you'll simply never cover it all on one trip. Tokyo, Hakone, and Kyoto make for a great start and excellent bases, and from there you can add places that fit your specific interests, including Osaka, Hiroshima, Kamakura, Nikko, Nagano, and Okinawa, to name a few.

📩 Thinking about a trip to Japan? I'll put together a customized itinerary for you with everything you'll need for a seamless journey. Message me any time to get started.

We are so excited to be back visiting Japan, one of our very favorite places. 🇯🇵

We lived in Japan for 3 years thanks to my husband's job and had the chance to really deeply explore the country and immerse in the culture. We've missed being here, so it's been great to revisit and share our favorite spots with the kids.

⬇️ What questions do you have about traveling to Japan?

📩 If you're thinking about checking Japan off your bucket list, I'll create a customized itinerary for you with the best places to visit, things to do and hidden gems, logistical tips for getting around, and more. Send me a message to get started.

As we are heading off on our next adventure, one of the questions I'm often asked is how to navigate potential language barriers.

First and foremost, I always try to learn at least a few words in the language of the country I'm visiting. A "hello" and "thank you" go a long way in showing respect for the culture of wherever you are.

Apps like Google Translate have been huge for me all over the world. I download the language I'll need so it's always available. Not only can you type to translate, but you can also take a picture of a sign or restaurant menu, and it'll translate it right into English. You can also use voice translation if you need to talk with someone.

And last, don't forget that as a traveler, you're the guest, so be sure to pack your patience. Most people are happy to help.

How have you navigated language barriers?

Long travel days may not be my favorite part of the adventure, but there are plenty of ways to elevate your experience and get you to your destination much more comfortably.

✈️ TSA Precheck/Clear
Having either TSA Precheck or Clear to bypass the major security lines at the airport has been a lifesaver for me, especially when traveling with kids. There's no need to take anything out of your bags or remove shoes or coats, so you can breeze your way through security. Many credit cards cover the fee for TSA Precheck for absolutely free, and your kids can automatically join you if you have Precheck.

✈️ Global Entry/Mobile Passport
And on the flip side, when you're coming back into the US at the end of your trip, Global Entry or Mobile Passport will allow you to quickly make your way past the immigration lines. Global Entry requires an application process, but Mobile Passport is an app that anyone can download on their phone to complete customs when your plane lands.

✈️ Airport Lounges
If you have a long layover, there's no better way to pass the time than in an airport lounge. Lounges are a quieter, more comfortable place to hang out than in the terminal and come complete with complimentary food and drinks. Again, many credit cards cover the entry fee to select lounges.

✈️ Comfort Seats
And my favorite hack? Even if you're flying in economy, you can elevate your experience on those long flights by purchasing a front row seat, exit row seat, or premium seat for room to stretch your legs and allow you to get some actual rest before you arrive at your destination.

What other tips do you have to make flying days more comfortable?

Should you trust hotel reviews you see online?

My take? Yes, you can take reviews into consideration, but it's risky to base your whole decision off the perspectives of strangers.

I’ve been to hotels with great ratings that just didn’t quite live up to my expectations. I’ve also been to hotels with less than perfect reviews, but they ended up being perfect for me and my travel style.

When I make recommendations on where you should stay and what you should do on your trip, I’m taking the time to truly understand your travel preferences, needs, and hotels you’ve enjoyed in the past. That way, I can match you with properties that I'm confident will fit the bill for YOU. Sometimes they are places I've vetted myself, places that I'm sure will be the ideal location for the experiences you plan to have, or places that will have the vibe or amenities you're after.

My goal is to give you clarity in the thousands of choices for resorts and hotels out there so that you're not guessing or relying on mixed reviews.

Let’s chat! Send me a message or comment below.

Planning a vacation shouldn't be stressful. I'm here to take the guesswork out of travel planning and make the vacay process as simple as can be.

1️⃣We'll chat about your vision for the trip. Whether you're envisioning a romantic honeymoon in Maui or an adventure through Southeast Asia, I'll ask questions about your preferences and style, and I'll make recommendations and suggestions that might be a good fit for you.

2️⃣I'll craft a personalized itinerary just for you complete with everything you'll need for the trip, including tried and trusted hotels, sightseeing plans, transport, and more. You'll give me your feedback, and I'll revise it until it's perfect.

3️⃣Once you're thrilled with the plan, I'll take care of all the bookings and arrangements. Flights, accommodations, activities—I've got it all covered. You can sit back, relax, and start counting down the days to your amazing adventure.

Heading abroad? Here are some of my favorite apps that I use on every trip. 📱

➡️ Google Translate
You can download the language of your destination country before you go so you can translate even when you're offline. Google Translate also allows you to take a photo of signs and menus in other languages and instantly translates them for you. No more language barrier!

➡️ Mobile Passport App
This is one of the best kept secrets if you're returning to the US from abroad. Simply open the app when you land, take a quick selfie and answer the customs questions, and skip the main immigration line in the airport! I've saved soo much time with this one.

➡️ Google Maps
You gotta be able to navigate wherever you are! I download an offline map of the region I'm visiting before I go so I can always get directions even if I don't have great cell coverage. allows you to not only navigate by car or on foot but also gives live train and bus times and routes all over the world.

➡️ XE
This app shows the exchange rate of any currency in the world. I've found it especially useful when we're visiting multiple countries on a trip when it can be hard to keep track of lots of exchange rates.

What are your favorite apps to use on a trip?

One week in Dubai 🇦🇪

Day 1: Go up the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. Explore Dubai Mall (complete with an aquarium and ice rink), watch the show at the fountain, and spend the evening exploring Souk Al Bahar.

Day 2: Experience a desert safari with dune bashing, camel rides, and a traditional Bedouin-style dinner under the stars.

Day 3: Take a boat tour through Dubai Marina. In the afternoon, explore the shops and restaurants of Jumeirah, or visit one of the beach clubs on Jumeirah Beach.

Day 4: Relax in the Aura Skypool, the world's highest infinity pool. Explore the Miracle Gardens, and stroll the Marina Walk.

Day 5: Visit the historic Al Fahidi neighborhood and Dubai Museum to learn about the city's rich heritage. Explore the bustling traditional souks.

Day 6: Take a day trip to Abu Dhabi to visit the stunning Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the luxurious Emirates Palace, and the fascinating Louvre Abu Dhabi.

Day 7: Spend your final day relaxing on the Palm Jumeirah. Visit Atlantis The Palm for a day of fun at Aquaventure Waterpark or relax at one of the gorgeous beaches or spas.

Dubai is best visited in the fall through spring when temperatures are cooler and can easily be combined with a visit to other Middle Eastern countries or even the gorgeous islands of the Maldives.

Why would someone book a trip with a travel advisor instead of doing it themselves? Here are a few reasons 👇

Handpicked Accommodations: The internet is a big place, and if you don't want to have to scour endless reviews and glossy photos *hoping* you've chosen the best place to stay (and that those reviews are even the real deal), then let me recommend hotels and resorts that will actually be the best fit for your style and wish list.

Expert Recommendations: I want to match you with that lesser-known but amazing local spot and help you decide which tours and experiences best suit your style! In most cases, I’m sharing insights from my own personal travel experiences around the world.

Reclaiming Time: I save you countless hours and weeks (and sometimes even months) of scouring the internet trying to figure out what to book and how to pull a great trip together. You can rest assured that you're going to experience the very best in your destination, without any of the guesswork.

Whether you’re road-tripping through the US this summer or exploring the Côte d‘Azur, here are my top tips for making the most of Google Maps when you travel 🔎

➡️ Save Offline Maps: Before you go, download maps for your destination by tapping the location, choosing "Download," and voilà! You can now navigate even without the internet.

➡️ Explore with Street View: Drop the little yellow peg man on the map and virtually stroll through the streets, and you'll feel like you're already there. Do this around your hotel to get familiar with nearby places.

➡️ Discover Nearby Places: Use the "Explore" feature to find attractions, restaurants, bars, parks, you name it, all in your vicinity. You can then create lists of anywhere you want to be sure to visit.

Happy exploring! 🌏

Raise your hand if you travel for the food 🙋‍♀️

Although you'll undoubtedly find great restaurants all over Italy, if food experiences are high on your list, then Bologna is where it's at.

Bologna has been named the food capital of Italy, and for good reason. Exploring the markets, taking a street food tour, and doing a local cooking class are some of the top things to do here.

And with enough time, head to nearby Parma and Modena to tour the cheese and balsamic factories.

Do you like to travel for the food? 🍝
