Your Ranger guides are Emma Neave-Webb and Russell Neave who both have a lifelong interest in birds and wildlife in general and have both spent several years working offshore as wildlife guides and seabird & marine mammal surveyors. More recently Emma spent 4 and a half years working as the Sanday Ranger with Sanday Development Trust. We love being outside and during the season offer a range of wa
lks and events to help folk enjoy the amazing wildlife, archaeology and scenery of Sanday. Most of our walks are more of a ramble with plenty of stops to discover whatever wildlife is about or to investigate the local history in more depth. We cater for all levels of birding and wildlife watching ability from the complete novice through to the experienced watcher. We always carry two telescopes with us so you will be able to see wildlife in amazing detail. We also have a few pairs of binoculars to borrow if you do not have your own. These are sanitized between each use. Hot drinks and biscuits will also always be a feature of any tour. Here in Sanday depending on the time of year, we have a chance of seeing hen harriers, otters, grey and common seals, whooper swans, long-tailed ducks, short-eared owls, peregrine falcon, merlin, harbour porpoise, great northern divers, red-throated divers, great and arctic skuas, black guillemot, fulmars, sanderling, dolphins and many many more, even the odd minke whale and if you are really lucky killer whale! Why not come and see what Sanday has to offer.
