Our property has recently been targeted by scammers - please all be vigilant when booking your accommodation and ensure you book through trusted platforms.
We love people making happy memories and enjoying great holidays with friends and family in our home.
It makes me so angry when these scammers think it’s ok to take peoples money and ruin their chance to enjoy the special time they have planned in our beautiful town.
Important Notice for Jeffreys Bay Holidaymakers: Avoid Accommodation Scams
Every year, excited holidaymakers arrive in Jeffreys Bay only to find that the holiday home they booked and paid for doesn’t exist—they’ve been scammed. Scammers often set up fake listings, using attractive photos and competitive prices to lure people into paying upfront for accommodations that simply don’t exist. To protect yourself and ensure a stress-free holiday, follow these guidelines:
1. Book Through Trusted Sites: Use reputable accommodation websites like Airbnb, Booking.com, or any platform that offers verified hosts and payment protection. Avoid deals that seem too good to be true—they probably are.
2. Book Through Jeffreys Bay Tourism: For peace of mind, reach out directly to the Jeffreys Bay Tourism office. They can connect you with verified local accommodations. Contact them at +27 (64) 966-9933 for reliable options.
3. Book through trusted estate agencies.
4. Avoid Facebook for Accommodation Requests: Scammers frequently monitor social media platforms like Facebook for posts asking about last-minute accommodation. Especially those who contact you via private message.
They may offer fake listings, and once money is transferred, they disappear. Stick to trusted channels instead.
By staying vigilant and using these secure booking methods, you can look forward to a memorable, worry-free holiday in Jeffreys Bay.
