What’s changing for Mexicans
"Starting at 11:30 p.m. ET on February 29, 2024,

you will need to meet new requirements to be eligible for an eTA
if you already have an eTA, it will automatically be cancelled unless you also have a valid work or study permit
if you have an eTA application in progress, you will need to apply for a new eTA or for a visitor visa
before you travel to Canada, you will need to apply for a new eTA (if eligible)
if you’re not eligible for an eTA anymore, you will need to apply for a visitor visa to travel to Canada

New IEC eligible country!

If you're 18 to 30, you can now work and travel to Canada 🇨🇦 under International Experience Canada's Working Holiday for up to 12 months. What's even better? You can participate twice for a total of 24 months!

Changes to the Working Holiday program in Canada, specifically for British citizens. Here's a breakdown of the key points:

1. Upper Age Limit Increase: The upper age limit for participation in the Working Holiday program has been raised from 30 to 35 years old.

2. Participation Duration: Participants can engage in the program for an initial period of 24 months. After that, they have the option to apply for a second participation with a duration of 12 months.

3. IEC Program: Both participations can be done through the regular International Experience Canada (IEC) program.
Invitation Start Date: Invitations for the program are set to begin on January 8, 2024.

4. Quota and Competition: There is a quota of 9000 Working Holiday spots. With thousands more people now eligible, there may be increased competition for these spots, potentially making it harder to secure a quick invitation and application. Quota of 900 for Young Professionals spots.

5. Young Professionals (YP) Program: The Young Professionals program, which was previously only available through Recognized Organizations, is now open without this requirement. This could provide a boost of 50 valid job offer points if applicants have close to one year of skilled work experience with a Canadian employer.

6. Alternative to LMIA: The YP program is a great alternative to the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) process. Employers don't need to advertise, and there is a reduced cost with a $230 Employer Compliance Fee compared to the $1000 LMIA processing fee.

Some countries only allow you to participate once. Others allow you to participate twice, but in different categories. Because each country is different, it’s important that you check to see if you’re eligible to apply.
