Florence and Siena, just above Greve in Chianti, lies a hidden gem: Montefioralle, one of the oldest villages in Chianti among the most beautiful ones in Italy. Its original name was 'Monteficalle', referring to the fig trees growing in the fields around the castle. Here, the houses are made of stones and the old streets climb up through thes small village, creating a fascinating atmosphere.
From the original 'cassero' you can enjoy a stunning view: vineyards, olive groves, old farms and greenery everywhere. This is also the best place to taste some Tuscan specialities accompanied by a glass of Chianti Classico.
