When this home builder was contacted in regards to a leaky window his response was he guarantees the building envelope was done properly. The experts have been called in to investigate but I think it is safe to say something was not done right.

Playing with woodpecker resistant wall systems today. This Du Rock fibre coat is applied about 1/4 thick with a second layer of 5 oz mesh followed by a third coat of polymer base cement. No doubt this will a give the woodpeckers a hard time and also give extra protection from the kids hockey pucks.

This building survived a forest fire and a Flood but poor workmanship was its worst enemy when repairing the damages. took over last fall and sent Marocco bros. up north to get the job done right and before the cold set in. Thanks for trusting Marocco bros. did a phenomenal job with the colour match as well

Rasping and corners today!!!
All corners Rasped straight after being checked a first layer of mesh is applied around all inside and outside corners before being checked again. Once dry a second layer of mesh and mud will be applied to add extra strength exceeding building codes and manufacture spec’s.

Mechanically fastened EIFS over any building paper in not a approved method of install yet we see this everywhere. If this is what we can see from the road what other “mistakes” were made.

Shame on those involved in this project. Even if the window was detailed correctly nothing was left for the next trade to tie into. It will not be long before the walls under this window look like the one in the second picture leaving the homeowner out thousands of $$$$ and a whole lot of stress.

The EIFS system did not fail!!! the contractor either was unknowledgeable or just a plain old crook. We have some of the best cladding systems ever offered today but if they are not installed correctly they just won’t work. You can push the gas in your car all day but you would not say the car is broken if it did not stop.

Marocco bros applied 3 inch DuRock P.U.C.C.S system with cement bear to keep heat in and moisture out. Finishes include pebble rock acrylic and a stunning Gem stone specialty finish in black to give it that quartz look. .alfacing

A important step skipped or rushed by many that is important to achieve a properly sealed building envelope. All joints in sheathing 1/8 inch or smaller are covered with 2.6oz mesh and polar bear all other joints including inside and outside corners are bumped up to 5oz mesh and polar bear prior to applying the traditional first coat of weatherproofing. This far exceeds both the Alberta building code and manufacture recommendations. The codes and guidelines are only minimum standards. Marocco bros. It was 14 years ago Marocco bros used a sand and cement system on this building. The fire was confirmed to have started on one of the only balconies that vinyl siding was used on. I do believe the outcome would have been quit different if our system was used at least on every balcony. The sand and cement base was all that was left standing on most of the forth floor. I sleep better at night knowing my family is protected by stucco if the neighbours home catches fire every second counts.

Using a EIFS system on your home can increase your homes R-Value by R7 with our minimum 2 inch EIFS adding 3.5 r value for every inch added. Marocco bros. Will help you keep cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
