Today we enjoy a last cruise through vineyard-covered hills, charming villages, and medieval castles.

After lunch, we arrive in the German city of Passau. Sitting at the confluence of the Danube, Inn and Ilz rivers, Passau is known as the 'Three Rivers City'.

The delightful old town is filled with baroque architecture, including St. Stephen's Cathedral, and lies in the shadow of the Veste Oberhaus, a 13th-century hilltop fortress.

Or you might want to visit Regensburg, this is around a 2 hour drive away and has the most amazing sausages to try.

Day 6 – Sunday 16th June 2024 - The enchanting Austrian Lake District or stunning Salzburg

This morning we wake up in beautiful Linz where you can choose between a day in the Austrian Lake District, the Salzkammergut, or a visit to Salzburg.

The first option sees us heading into the country for a day in the lakes where we stop at UNESCO-listed Hallstatt, one of Austria's most photographed villages thanks to its pastel-coloured houses.

We also visit Hallstätter See Lake and Mondsee, a pretty town set on the lake of the same name and famous for its 15th-century parish church which featured in 'The Sound of Music'.

Alternatively, travel via Mondsee to Salzburg, a beautiful Baroque city on the banks of the Salzach river. During a guided sightseeing tour, we explore Getreidegasse street, famed for its traditional shops with metal signboards and the place where Mozart was born.

The Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is filled with stunning Baroque architecture, beautiful churches, quaint squares, and charming alleyways that we admire as we meander through.

Day 5 – Saturday 15th June 2024 - Charming Dürnstein, beautiful Wachau Valley, and picturesque Melk Abbey

Austria's Wachau Valley is a famous wine-making region, which makes it the perfect stop on our cruise to sample the renowned local wine.

There's free time in the quaint village of Dürnstein to do just that, or simply wander the charming streets, soaking up the fairy-tale landscapes. From the riverside, we can see the renowned castle where Richard I of England was imprisoned for a time.

This afternoon, we cruise through the scenery of the Wachau Valley during lunch on the sundeck, truly a highlight of the river. This scenic area of green valleys and vineyards is dotted with picturesque riverside towns and commanding fortresses.

Later, we disembark in Emmersdorf to visit Melk Abbey, an 11th-century Benedictine Abbey that stands atop a rocky outcrop overlooking the Danube.

It's here we see the abbey's church, one of the most beautiful Baroque churches north of the Alps.

Day 4 – Friday 14th June 2024 - Imperial Vienna

After a calm night of cruising, we arrive into glorious Vienna, for a comprehensive sightseeing tour. This is a chance to relish in Austria's Imperial heritage, one full of tradition and rich in architectural, artistic and musical heritage.

We'll see many of Vienna's finest ornate buildings, including the impressive Hofburg Palace. This vast complex of buildings demonstrates the awesome power and wealth commanded by the Habsburgs.

We’ll also take in the impressive Opera House, one of the leading opera venues in the world, as well as the grand Parliament Building.

This afternoon, you can return to the city to continue sightseeing or jump on our free shuttle coach to Schönbrunn Palace.

Schönbrunn Palace was the main summer residence of the Habsburg rulers, located in Hietzing, Vienna. The name Schönbrunn has its roots in an artesian well from which water was consumed by the court.

Tonight a real treat awaits us on board, where after dinner we are joined by musicians from the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra for an exclusive, private recital.

We may be whisked away by the music as we immerse ourselves in this singularly exceptional experience, as the Vienna Philharmonic is one of the most popular and skilled orchestras in the world.

Day 5 – Monday 22nd April 2024 - Hartenstein Airborne Museum or Netherlands' Open-Air Museum

We continue sailing to Arnhem this morning and after breakfast and lunch on-board when we arrive this afternoon, we have a choice of two different excursions:

Our first option is to visit the fascinating and interactive Netherlands' Open-Air Museum, located in Arnhem. It focuses on the culture associated with the everyday lives of ordinary people, and demonstrating the old way of life in the Netherlands.

The park was established on 24 April 1912, and opened to the public in July 1918.
Alternatively we may choose to visit the excellent Hartenstein Airborne Museum, in nearby Oosterbeek, for a guided tour. This institution focuses on the fierce Battle of Arnhem in WWII and was the setting of the war film 'A Bridge Too Far'.

Day 4 – Sunday 21st April 2024 - Ypres Battlefields or Ghent at leisure

Ypres and its surrounding area became a major focus point of the war during the race to the sea in 1914, where it was briefly occupied by the Germans, only to be quickly won back and held thereafter by the allies.

It became the beating heart of the Allied frontline throughout the First World War and was the scene of no less than five crucial battles between 1914 and 1918.
This morning we can choose to take an optional excursion to the poignant Ypres Battlefields, including the Sanctuary Wood Cemetery with entrance included.

Alternatively, we could explore the attractive town of Ghent at our own pace, venturing into the narrow streets and pretty boulevards. The architecture lends an elegant grandeur to the buildings here, such as the impressive St Bavo's Cathedral and the Belfry.

During lunch, we set sail and we can spend the afternoon enjoying the ship's facilities or relaxing in our cabin.

Day 3 – Saturday 20th April 2024 - Historic Ghent or fairy-tale Bruges

This morning our ship arrives in Ghent, in Flemish Belgium and Colonel Piers Storie-Pugh comes aboard to deliver a fascinating talk about the battlefields in the region, using his expertise in the field to take us back in time.

We have a choice of two excursions after lunch: an afternoon coach tour to Bruges or a guided sightseeing tour of Ghent.

Despite being one of Belgium's oldest cities, Ghent remains small enough to feel cosy but big enough to be a vibrant, relevant centre for trade and culture. There's a wealth of medieval and classical architecture here and our guided sightseeing tour explores Ghent and showcases the city's medieval architecture and includes a chocolate stop.

Belgium's fourth-largest, and most beautiful, city is home to a quarter of a million people and a flourishing flower export trade.

Bruges is a city of classics, from the Rozenhoedkaai and the Market Square, through the Lake of Love and the canals, to the Beguinage, the alms-houses and much more. Iconic sites that give the city its look and charm you instantly, now centuries old but always exceptionally impressive. Not to be left off your to-do list!

Bruges is an enchanting medieval town with a proud history and friendly squares, often filled with locals enjoying cafés which serve up Belgian delicacies and our afternoon coach tour to Bruges lets you explore these.

Day 2 – Friday 19th April 2024 - Vibrant Amsterdam

Amsterdam the Capital of the Netherlands, is today’s destination, where we enjoy a sightseeing of this vibrant city.

With its famously scenic canals, rich history and iconic cultural scene and over 800 years of history to discover, Amsterdam is rich in fascinating attractions and sights. From old castles to beautiful museums and from charming secret courtyards to picturesque, cobbled streets, this capital city is a feast for the eyes.

Attractions include icons of art and culture such as the world-famous Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum or the Anne Frank House.

With its beautiful, tree-lined canals, famous parks and no less than 400 kilometres of bicycle paths, Amsterdam's clean air and lush greenery are helped by the locals' favourite mode of transport: the bicycle.

We will also visit The Bloemenmarkt, a picturesque floating flower market on the Singel with flowers and plants displayed on barges that from the outside look like real shops, but are overflowing with tulips, daffodils and bulbs of all kinds.

After lunch, we can explore this exciting city at our own pace before we set sail to Ghent this afternoon and enjoy dinner on board this evening.
