Who are these people?
Hi, and welcome to The Brit’s Highlands Hideaway located in the mountains of North Carolina, elevation 4118’. This is the owner’s page; in the photo above, I’m the creative one on the right. Analytical Steve on the left. We get along, MOST of the time. This guest house venture is a collective effort. My colors and home decor doo-daas, his management expertise (aka, “No, Susan you’ll need to find a less expensive alternative.”)
This place is our happy place. Quiet, easy access, laid back. The soft sound of a gravel road as you drive past some REALLY nice homes, serene. Bears, fawns, butterflies and my new favorite, hummingbird moths. Lush rhododendrons and hydrangeas, the deep croaking by frogs the pond, a gentle breeze.
All the serenity we could want, occasionally punctuated by a barking Golden Retriever (Cooper Hayes - the more famous of the two can be found on Facebook) or two (Sweet Layla) typically accompanied by Dexter, the miniature dachshund, also known as Houdini We**ie.
