World Wildlife Journeys An adventure travel company established by wilderness guides leading small-group wildlife safaris.

The idea of creating a unique travel company was conceived around a campfire alongside the Zambezi River, the brainchild of a small group of friends who were all veteran Safari Guides. The company they founded, World Wildlife Journeys, is committed to creating an unparalleled travel experience for people who share our passion for wild places and the creatures that inhabit them. From humble beginni

ngs, circa 1992, conducting small group safaris across Africa, we have grown to offer unique wildlife encounters on three continents, yet we remain committed to our core beliefs. We offer our travellers the best quality wildlife encounters, in the best locations on earth, and in the company of the best Professional Guides working today. Our objective is to create life-changing journeys that have a positive impact on the natural environment while uplifting the wilderness communities we visit.

Did you know the giraffe’s extraordinary height demands a highly specialised cardiovascular system. Its heart, nearly two feet long and weighing around 25 pounds, generates immense pressure to pump blood up its long neck to the brain. This powerful system ensures a steady flow, preventing dizziness and maintaining vital functions—an elegant adaptation perfected by evolution.

Join us in March 2026 on an extraordinary journey through the heart of India, where history, wildlife, and culture intertwine in the most spectacular fashion. We begin in Delhi, where the grandeur of Humayun’s Tomb—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—stands as a testament to a bygone era. In Agra, the imposing walls of the magnificent Agra Fort whisper tales of the emperor's past, while the ethereal beauty of the Taj Mahal leaves us in awe. But it is deep within India's untamed wilderness that we embark on our greatest adventure. With expert naturalists, we venture into the country’s premier tiger habitats, tracking the elusive Bengal tiger in its natural domain. Staying in award-winning eco-lodges, we will uncover the delicate balance of this ecosystem, learning how tigers navigate their forest corridors, ensuring the survival of their species. Finally, we journey to Kathmandu, where a mesmerizing fusion of cultures awaits. This is not just a trip—it is a voyage into the very soul of the wild!

In the vast plains of the African savanna, a remarkable predator prowls the land. The Spotted Hyena—so often misjudged, yet among the most formidable and astute hunters in the natural world. Bound together in tightly knit clans, these creatures live under the rule of an extraordinary matriarchy. Here, the alpha female wields absolute power, her dominance unchallenged, even by the mightiest of males. In this world, size and strength favor the females—a rare trait among mammals.

In the breathtaking expanse of the northern Serengeti, one cannot help but be captivated by the majestic granite hills that rise against the skyline. These ancient formations provide an ideal refuge for the elusive leopard, a creature of both beauty and mystery. As we journey through this remarkable landscape, I often share with fellow adventurers that if, by the fifth day of our safari, a leopard remains unseen, it is not due to a lack of presence. Rather, one can be assured that a leopard has, in fact, seen us. These magnificent cats are far more common than we might think, yet they possess an extraordinary ability to vanish into their surroundings, becoming invisible when they choose to remain hidden. Perhaps it is the security they find atop their private granite outcrops that emboldens them. In this enchanting corner of the Serengeti, the leopards exhibit a remarkable boldness, making our chances of encountering these magnificent creatures quite promising.

Visiting the migration in the North Serengeti in July is focused on witnessing the wildebeest crossing the Mara River, with all the drama that attends such an event. Expert Guide, Russell Gammon, spoke with one of our visitors a couple of years after he experienced the migration with us. He had been on multiple safaris with us and was an exceptionally well-traveled gentleman. He told Russell that the half-hour he spent watching, awestruck, as five thousand wildebeest cascaded down the riverbank and plunged headlong into the river was probably the most exciting twenty-five minutes of his entire life! And indeed, who could argue? For in that moment, one witnesses not merely a crossing but a timeless, heart-stopping dance of survival, a testament to the indomitable spirit of life itself.
