Good morning Facebookers!! This lovely lot graduated their Intermediate Obedience Course yesterday. All 4 dogs absolutely smashed it. It was a lovely group of people & dogs & we had a good laugh amongst the useful stuff too. Well done everybody!! 🥰

And THAT completes my group training courses for the first half of the year. They are now postponed for the hot summer months & will resume again in Autumn when its cooler. All other services will continue throughout summer. 😎

Good morning guys!! Apologies for the delay in getting this message out, craaaaaaaazy work schedule has been dominating all of my time & set me back on donation collecting. BUT for those waiting to hear the final tally of the sponsored walk for Pasykaf, and assuming that everybody who pledged & hasn't yet paid will pay up soon, the total raised was 2,700 Euros!!! How fricking AMAZING is that!!! I am so so SO chuffed. Actually had a little cry when I saw the final amount.

Good morning Facebookers!! So today is the dayyyyyyyyyyy!! My charity walk, raising funds for Pasykaf. Check out PART of my ridiculous outfit. Yes, I did make it myself. STOP LAUGHING!! What I lack in creativity & artistic flair I make up for in enthusiasm. 😂😂 And there's my little collection bucket so I can harass innocent passers by.

**** CHARITY FUNDRAISER UPDATE!!! ***

Morning guys!! Its creeping up!! This Sunday I go against all of my own personal beliefs & actually exercise. 😂 But its for two beautiful people & a great, well deserving charity so I shall stop moaning & as long as there's a glass of wine at the end of it I'll be a happy girl. 🥵🥂 Even dog trainers need a treat to motivate good behaviour. 😂😂

I have a target in my head of how much money I want to raise for Pasykaf & I'm just over halfway. So anybody who hasn't donated please please please get in touch, support me & this great charity. Morning Facebookers!! A rare non-dog related post here but your support would be really appreciated. On the 29th of February I lost a close friend. She had been fighting cancer for years & finally the disease won out. She was 57 years old. Simultaneously I have one of my best friends going through a similar fight. At the moment she is determined & fighting but this vile disease is relentless & really pushing her to her physical & emotional limit. She is 47 years old.

I felt & feel so helpless & just needed to DO something. So In memory of my friend who passed away & in support & cheerleading of my friend still fighting I have decided to dress up like a fool & do a charity walk. All proceeds will go to Pasykaf, which is a cancer support charity here in Paphos. They do a great job supporting people through their horrendous cancer journeys & were, in particular, an absolute rock & constant support to my friend who passed away. The walk will take place on Sunday April 14th & is roughly 5k.

Would you be kind enough to sponsor me on this fundraiser so that we can give a big up yours to the horror of a disease that is cancer & earn a s**t ton of money for a fantastic, well deserving local charity. Good morning guys! I'm just about to set the start date for the next Intermediate Obedience Course. I'm provisionally looking at Tuesday the 7th of March at 11am. The Intermediate course follows directly on from my Beginners Obedience Course & focusses more heavily on off lead training, group exercises & training with distractions around. Its a leap in difficulty from the basic Beginners course but so useful in every day life. In order for you to join the Intermediate course your dog must have either already completed the K9 Solutions Beginners Obedience Course or already know the basics of sit, down, leave, stay & recall. The course is 6 weeks long, 1 lesson each week & costs 150 Euros.

Good morning Facebookers!! I have two new Beginners Obedience Courses starting the first week of March & each currently has one space available. The Beginners Obedience Course is a great foundation course covering the basics of obedience training plus good manners, all important socialising & training with distractions around. The course is 6 weeks long, 1 lesson each week & costs 150 Euros. The available dates are:

The weather is clearing up & warming up so I am able to open up my training area in Peyia on March 1st as hoped. This means that all of my group training courses will be available once again. Morning all!! The start date for the next Beginners Obedience Course is now set & currently has 2 spaces available. It is scheduled to begin on Monday the 13th of November at 10am.
My Beginners Obedience Course is a 6 week long set format and is designed to achieve a well mannered and manageable pet. As well as the basics of obedience of sit, lie down, stay, recall and leave (which we train with food, thinking about poison), my course also covers good manners, such as not jumping on people, letting dogs pass by politely, not pulling on the leash, etc. The obedience is invaluable to have a manageable pet, the manners training is invaluable to have a dog that you are proud of and that you are happy to take out and about with you and the group setting is invaluable for producing a socially trustworthy dog. Over all invaluable is the word!!

The courses are 6 weeks long, 1 lesson each week and cost 150 Euros per dog.

Morning guys!! Thought I'd share with you an example of what we cover in the Advanced Obedience Course. In this exercise all of the dogs are in a stay with their handlers away from them. Then one at a time each dog will take their turn to slalom around the other dogs. The dog on the move must be doing nice heelwork, looking up at their handler & ignoring the dogs they're passing. The dogs in the stay have to ignore the dog that's passing & not break the stay. I've designed these sorts of exercises to work on off lead training, group training & training with distractions. And I think its safe to say they all smashed it!!!

One of the things many people don't know about my job is that it is SO much more than training a dog. On an average day I can switch from dog trainer, to child psychologist, husband trainer (just swap ham for Carlsberg.... LOL!), marriage guidance counsellor, therapist, support network & friend. But a few days ago I had a message from a customer that really hit me hard & made me feel like I'd really made a difference. This lady had lost her partner a few months before attending an Agility Course. I had no idea at the time & with her permission she has allowed me to share the message she sent to me.....

"HI Lindsay. Great news that you are back up & running classes. Could you please put me on the list for the basic obedience. After losing my partner last November the agility course really helped us both in lots of ways, so thank you. I'd recommend it to anyone grieving or going through a tough time in life. The course motivated me to get out, run around & enjoy ourselves for an hour without thinking about anything else & even though it took a few deep breaths & some tears it was just what we needed."

After reading that I had a little cry myself because to know that my course had helped in such a massive way was, and still is, hard to put into words. Its certainly one of the biggest compliments I've ever received. I asked her permission to share this because we've all been touched by loss & if her words might inspire somebody else, even one other person, who is grieving or at a low point to "get out, run around & enjoy themselves" then it was worth it.

Hey guys!! I am happy to be able to FINALLY post something positive. Thanks to the support & kindness of a lovely customer I have found a piece of land in Peyia that I can fence in & use for training. Due to the disaster of the last one I am not even bothering investing the money to make it a fully functioning dog park. Once bitten twice shy. I'm going back to basics. So there will be no agility, flyball or private rentals of the space. It will purely be for one on one private lessons & group training of the obedience courses.

I intend to have it ready by end of September when it will hopefully be cooler. So for those of you on waiting lists, I'll be in touch soon. And for anybody interested to join the waiting list for the first batch of courses, please get in touch.

I've said it multiple times before but I do really have the best customers that any business could ever wish for & I'm truly grateful. Your support really lifted my spirits. You're all amazing. *** IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ***

Hey Facebookers. It is with a great amount of frustration, upset & several other words that I probably shouldn't use that I am writing this post. At the end of July I will have to close my dog park / training facility permanently. As you know I had to relocate from Kissonerga to Tsada back in January. The new location has been fraught with problems from day 1 but this week I've been told by the authorities that I have to take down the roof. I have no idea why but this roof is there for shade. If I take it down it means I can only use the space for about 3 months of the year, which is pointless. So I've had to cut my losses & make the difficult decision to close it. And after all of the stresses of the last 10 months I just don't have the energy or the fight in me to start all over again in a new location. :-(

This does, of course, mean that for the time being there will be no group training courses so apologies to those on waiting lists. I'm hoping to find a space where I can still run them, maybe one of you has a piece of flat, level land that I could maybe rent by the hour??? Or some public space where we could meet to have the lessons. Anyway, this is a problem for another day. All of my other services are available but as house visits instead of lessons at the dog park.
