I decided to start my own home business in the Fall of 2010 so I could still be available for my son at any time, but also get back into the workforce. I was always interested in soap-making, and from the first batch I made, I was hooked. I have very sensitive skin, especially my face, so I wanted to concentrate on a soap that was mild and moisturizing, but still cleansing. I use an unscented bar
on my face and have found it to be better than my mild Clinique cleanser that I have used for years. I opt for the scented soaps for my body. Ingredients in my soaps are pure olive oil, distilled water, coconut oil, organic palm kernel oil, sodium hydroxide, organic castor oil, organic unrefined shea butter, and organic unrefined cocoa butter. For scented soaps, I add either premium grade fragrance oils or essential oils. I don't use any colorants in any of my soaps. Any color variations between scents are a result of the fragrance or essential oil used. This new business venture has been so exciting for me. The business is named after my late father's mother. Clare Fallon was her maiden name and I was given the middle name Clare after her. Unfortunately, Clare passed long before I was born, so I never got to know her. Before my father passed away, I promised him I would carry on her name if we ever had a daughter. Well, we have an awesome son named Alex, but no daughter. When I decided to start this business, picking the name was very easy. This is my way of carrying on my father's mother's name for him. I hope all of you enjoy my soaps as much as I do. Maureen Maag
