Welcome to The Jungle. Today is Christmas week 1967 in The Jungle of Vietnam and members of the Red Warriors made the best Christmas that they could have in The Jungle. Christmas trees, Christmas decorations, care packages from home, people dressed up like Santa, a real Christmas meal in Marmite Cans and your best friends, what more could you ask for? Okay, you would rather be back in The World. For many Red Warriors and others, it was their first Christmas away from home and there was sadness in the air, but everyone made the best of it. Bob Hope and his troop were at Camp Enari, but not everyone would see him because they were doing their duty in The Jungle. What would the New Year bring? Everyone hoped for peace, an end to the war and a trip home on a Freedom Bird, but we now know that was not to be in 1967 or 1968 or 1969 or 1970 or 1971 or 1972-Peace would come, but a little too late for those who would eventually be listed on The Vietnam Memorial Wall.
Merry Christmas 1967 to all! I am sure most of you remember the Christmas you spent in Vietnam. Some of you who are reading this post spent it with me on top of a mountain named Christmas Hill in The Central Highlands drinking some Canadian Club whisky. We had a blast until we had to go to the new company commander's briefing. Okay, enjoy the ceasefire, but get ready for a very rocky January and February 1968.

Thanks to all who served in Vietnam

THE RUNNING THROUGH THE JUNGLE STORY

I am not sure how we became a travel company, but that is okay, I guess you might say we “traveled” through The Jungle. We actually ran, jumped, hu**ed, fell, walked, crawled our way through the mountainous jungle of the Central Highlands of Vietnam during our year long tours in Vietnam. Besides all that movement, we did see snakes, tigers, elephants, The Montagnard People, South Vietnamese troops, and, of course, some unfriendly North Vietnamese troops who did everything they could to make our stay uncomfortable. Come along with us as we try to stay alive in The Jungle. We also did make some detours and ended up in Cambodia, but that is another story. I guess you could say we did “travel” but it was not a pleasurable time as you will hear and see. Thanks for joining us, hope you enjoy your stay.
