Magic, beauty and serenity are only three of the many things you’ll encounter at the Blue Lagoon Jamaica.
Enchanting doesn’t quite capture what the Blue Lagoon experience feels like.
It might actually be impossible to describe the experience with words.
Not even pictures do the legendary lagoon much justice.
If you love nature, you’ll appreciate this beautiful world of its own.
This lagoon was once thought to be bottomless, but since then divers have found that it has a bottom at a depth of about 180 feet.
It’s known for its constantly changing shades of blue throughout the day and is the largest in Jamaica that’s fed by both spring and the Caribbean Sea.
It’s this blend of fresh and salt water that accounts for the nature of the lagoon as the temperature alternates between warm and cold at varying layers and different times.
Local legend claims that a mysterious dragon or sea serpent lives in its deep, blue waters, but this of course is merely folklore and visitors need not worry about such a creature appearing when they come to see this miraculous oasis nature has created.

So a concern that many travelers have been expressing is whether or not it’s safe to travel to Jamaica with the threats and spread of the novel coronavirus.
Well, there is NO coronavirus in Jamaica!
Which means it’s typically safe to visit Jamaica, but there are still risks with traveling as of course, getting on a plane and traveling with people from all over itself is also a risk.
But Jamaica is being extremely careful not to expose itself to the virus and so as a result there are imposed travel restrictions which could impact you.
Your travel history could decide whether or not you can come into the country
The travel ban includes China, Italy, South Korea, Singapore and Iran and states that;
Persons who have visited China, Italy, South Korea, Iran and Singapore in the last 14 days and who do not have permanent residency or marriage exemption in Jamaica will not be granted landing privileges at any of the country’s ports of entry.
So right now, Jamaica is pretty safe as there are no cases of the virus here.

I am Maureen Wright-Evans, Founder of Wanderlust Adventures and I want to share with you my story of how this company began.
When I was 12 years old my life changed forever… My mother worked in the resort town of San San Jamaica. She was poor, had no supervision for her children and was determined that I would not get pregnant as she did at the age of seventeen. To ensure this, she would take me to the resorts where she worked and hid me in the staff bedroom.
One day I sneaked away, went down to the beach and started playing in the sea. A Canadian couple saw me and started talking to me about my beautiful island Jamaica.
I was so excited… I told them about the unique things they could do and the amazing places they could go to. They too were excited to show me off to the cook. We went upstairs and when my mother saw me she nearly fainted. She thought she had lost her job and she apologized over and over saying ‘I am so sorry, so sorry for bringing my daughter here.’ This was my first experience in sharing my passion for Jamaica with tourists.
Today, my passion is now my work and I can’t wait to show you the unique and hidden places I love.
