Did you know that Disney World offers some amazing experiences for adults? Yesterday, I attended a wine tasting class with George Miliotes, the owner of Wine Bar George at Disney Springs and one of only 279 master sommeliers in the world.

We blind tasted six different wines from various regions and nibbled on delicious charcuterie. Several of the wines we tasted retail for around $200 per bottle.

George was wonderful - down to earth, funny and full of knowledge answering the many questions that guests had for him. He said that he never uses the same wine twice during his tasting classes so I definitely plan on reserving this experience again in the future!

The decorations at Disney’s Hollywood Studios are an absolute delight! A touch of vintage nostalgia and a touch of whimsy really makes this park a magical destination that’s a must-visit during the holidays. I love the Christmas tree too! What’s your favorite park to visit during the holidays?

Staying at Wilderness Lodge during the holidays is like staying in the middle of a rustic winter fairytale. The majestic tree, the fireplace, the garlands and lights draped along the railings are absolutely stunning. My iced coffee tastes even better surrounded by this beautiful holiday ambience.

“Will I be bored on a day at sea on a Disney Cruise?” In a word, “NO!”

There is so much to do on board a Disney cruise that some guests opt to stay on the ship even on port days! From a sports area with basketball court and golf simulator to theaters featuring movies and Broadway-style musicals to adult beverage tasting classes to a full spa and salon to character meet and greets to activities like Bingo and trivia and karaoke to incredible themed lounges for adults and clubs for kids, teens and teens there is something for everyone at every age!

On this last cruise I started my day watching the sunrise followed by Mickey churro waffles for breakfast and then several hours of lounging at the adult pool while my daughter hung out at Vibe, the teen club. I attended a mixology class, watched a violinist play while having a class of wine, took a walk on the ships walking deck, and watched a movie while resting in my stateroom. The best thing about a day at sea is that you can do as much or as little as you care to do!

Happy Saturday from aboard the Disney Fantasy!

Yesterday we visited Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point - another of Disney’s private destinations in the Bahamas. Lookout Cay has only been open for a few months and, unlike Castaway Cay which is Disney’s own private island, is located on the southern tip of the Bahamian island of Eleuthera.

While Castaway Cay is centered and designed around the creative storytelling of a fictional group of explorers, Lookout Cay is designed to
center the beauty of Bahamian flora, fauna, people and their culture. Disney worked with the Bahamian government to keep the natural ecosystem of Lighthouse Point in tact and with the people of the Bahamas to create an authentic experience that honors their culture. The result is an absolutely pristine beach with breathtaking turquoise water and powdering white and pink sand, the Goombay cultural education center, daily Junkanoo celebrations by island locals and delicious food reflective of the culture.

Interact with Disney characters dressed in Bahamian-inspired outfits, excursions to allow you to explore the beauty of Eleuthera, an adults only beach and, like Castaway Cay, private cabana rentals.

My day at Lookout Cay was absolutely spectacular. I felt like I was experiencing a little bit of paradise as J relaxed on the beach and soaked in the gorgeous view. This place offers fun and relaxation in a beautiful way.

Greetings from aboard the Disney Fantasy! 🚢🏝️❤️

Yesterday we spent the day at Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island in the Bahamas. Castaway Cay was designed to resemble an abandoned island that was once occupied by a bunch of explorers who found the island but never wanted to leave.

Castaway Cay is a fun destination offering excursions like snorkeling, jet skis, banana boats, kayaking and much more. It also offers plenty of opportunities to relax on the family beach or over at Serenity Bay, the adults only beach.

Castaway Cay is what happens when you combine the creativity of Disney’s storytelling with the beauty of the Bahamian islands.

Yesterday I boarded the Disney Fantasy at Port Canaveral with my 17-year old daughter. We were able to purchase transportation on Disney Cruise Line’s bus from Disney’s Beach Club Resort, where stayed the previous night, directly to the port.

Once on board we headed straight to Cabanas, the buffet restaurant, for some lunch. Afterwards my daughter headed straight to Vibe, the teen club, where she met fellow teens. She loves the teen clubs on Disney cruises . I usually only see her for dinner because she spends all of her time there. Disney also offers a club for kids and another one for tweens. There is a nursery on board, as well, available at an additional charge.

While my daughter was at the teen club I attended a mixology class, watched a little bit of Mulan on the pool deck while snacking on some pizza, listened to an amazing violin player in the ship’s atrium and spent some time relaxing in our stateroom.

Later that night we had dinner at Animator’s Palette, one of the ships main dining rooms. Disney Cruise Line ships have three main dining rooms that guests rotate through each night. The great part is that your servers rotate with you si each night they are prepared to cater to your needs whether it’s being mindful of an allergy or having your preferred beverage waiting for you when arrive for dinner.

Animator’s Palette is a favorite among Disney Cruise Line fans. Last night we had Crush join us throughout the meal on screens located throughout the restaurant. Crush interacts with guests in real time making for a fun entertaining experience for guests of all ages!

When we returned to our room our stateroom attendant had turned our room down for bedtime. Each night the stateroom attendants create different towel and blanket creatures with a few chocolates. Such a fun surprise to find at the end of each day.

I just checked into the Beach Club at Disney World for a one night stay before boarding the Disney Fantasy tomorrow for a 4-night Bahamian cruise. The Beach Club is one of my favorite resorts because of its proximity to Epcot, it’s amazing pool, and the pretty pastel and beach-themed decor. The Beach Club is a Deluxe Resort which means guests receive extended evening hours on select nights, in addition to early entry to the theme parks. Guests staying at Deluxe Resorts also have exclusive access to purchase Disney’s Lightning Lane Premier Pass which allows guests to skip the lines of attractions at the theme parks without needing to reserve a return time.
