Registration for the 2025 Tour des Trees is now open!

We are excited to be coming back to Michigan this year, this time exploring the western half of the state, starting and ending in Grand Rapids. Dates are Sunday, August 10 to Saturday, August 16.

The views will be beautiful, the route will be rolling, and the people will be the best! We’ll spend five days riding- roughly 435 miles- starting in Grand Rapids, head through the forests north to Traverse City, stop by the Sleeping Bear Dunes, and then follow the Lake Michigan lakefront back south, seeing the beaches and lighthouses that dot the landscape.

Wow, what a crazy 6 weeks! 2 trips to finalize logistics & lead the Tour des Trees in NE (CT, RI, & MA including Martha’s Vineyard), 1 trip I flew the other I drove 2,000+ miles. Then I drove to lead a group up the Natchez Trace (MS, AL & TN). All together I operated in or drove through 16 states and some 4,000 miles. Sandwiched in between the trips was Hurricane Helene, which my poor wife had to experience and mostly manage alone! I am so happy to be home with my girls and to be able to take the reins on our recovery through this difficult time as western NC attempts to rebuild!

Jana and I are safe, but we have a very long road ahead. We are luckier than most. Over 100 lives have been lost as well as countless homes and businesses. The eroded road you see is Crab Creek very close to our house. Duke Energy has said that 100% of residents in Henderson county are without power!

Please keep Ms. Jana, our girls and our family in your prayers. She is alone but well at home by herself during this catastrophic flooding. I drove as long as could today but am still a long way from home with no idea if there is a way for me to get to my family tomorrow. The Governor & state website says ALL roads in western NC are closed!

Day 2 - Ominous start to the day, but although there was a fair amount of fog today the rain held off until the very end. Another long day in the saddle for the riders.

The final day, Stage 5, and finally a proper spring day, which allowed Jana to showcase her preparation & fitness. She raced hard and finished the day in 2nd place! She showed again, she fatigues at a slower rate than most! Great job babe, I am so very proud of your toughness during what was a very challenging edition of an always difficult Pisgah Stage Race!

Another wet day at the Pisgah Stage Race. Kudos to everyone who finished. Stage 2 included some of the toughest trails in Pisgah, Mullinax, Squirrel, S. Mills River, Buckhorn & Upper Black…if you know these you know what a difficult Stage it was. Ms. Jana finished strong and is ready for tomorrow’s Queen Stage! Wish her luck!

Final Ride in Tucson - Starr Pass, technical climbing followed by technical descending, tough final day! Great training block for Ms. Jana 16 hrs, 732 TSS, 10,200+ of climbing!

Day 4 - Sweetwater Preserve, what a beautiful day & trail system, filled with massive Saguaro cacti. Mostly desert flow but also several technical sections to keep you on your toes!

Another Day in Tucson, another trail system. McKensie Ranch is a purpose built CX race course. We are loading up on TSS this week during Jana’s build/training camp to the Pisgah Stage Race!
