Happy 4th Weekend!🎆

And safe and smooth journey to those trying to maneuver these unprecedented times of travel on the busiest summer weekend!

Out of the three flights cancelled in JFK today, one had to be ours. It was a good thing I was still up late when I received the text alert and jumped right on the customer care line along with my agent friend who helped book our flights.

They had us rebooked on separate flights (me solo and my husband w/ the two kids) since our reservation was different due to a correction in my name that needed to be made.

My husband would’ve been crazy enough to do that if it didn’t arrive 2 days late. We were also considering a flight out of Boston, but there were no rental car options open and all buses were sold out.

After 3 hours of waiting on the phone, finally we got to speak to someone and they were able to book us on a flight arriving a day later than our original date. It was the best option with a short layover in Dubai. Now to get to the airport 5 hours early to make sure we sit together.

This was all between 12:30am to 4:30am this morning. Phew! The things we do for travel✈️

They literally have a mini located between lounges 2 and 3, where you can spend some time before jumping on your connecting flight.

Opposite the museum is where you can find recliners that are purposefully under dimmed lights for wary travelers to doze off comfortably on during long layovers.

And don’t forget the stroopwafels!
