A few people recently asked me what I would do if I were making the necessary decision about the hotels for their trips. In one of those moments, I realized how much my answer has changed through the years!

When we first began our Disney life, I took whatever was least expensive.
Then, we tried a Deluxe Resort, and I was sold on the fancy life.
This past year, I've realized the tiny kids in the picture are now basically small adults, and the maximum amount of space and extra bathrooms are imperative if we want to still adore each other when we get home. 🤣

Each stage of life brings new challenges and needs. The great news is, Disney is thinking ahead to make sure your family has fantastic options during each new adventurous moment.

Beginning January 2 for booking: Guests can get a free dining plan with the purchase of a non-discounted 3-night, 3-day (at minimum) Walt Disney Travel Company package that includes a room at a select Disney Resort hotel and a ticket with a Park Hopper option.

This offer is available for most arrivals starting May 27 through Jun. 26, and Jul. 7 through Aug. 6, 2025.

We’re loaded up to see his Momo and Pops, his Miniature Schnauzer buddy Archie, and all the nieces and nephews after he visited the doggy spa and spent Christmas Eve at home yesterday.

The last time we were on the Disney Magic was November of 2019. Look at how little the girls were! We’ve spent a ton of time on the Dream and Wish for the past few years, but we are so excited to make new memories and see the original Disney ship again in less than 3 weeks.
The decision to book a last minute trip certainly made the rest of our Christmas shopping so much easier!

Hi, friends! It’s been a minute, hasn’t it? To be quite honest with you, I needed a social media break. I love getting to share what we’re doing with you, but sometimes the pressure of posting because it’s my job makes it hard to maintain. At one point, I had the responsibility of posting to 5 social media pages, and it caused me to burnout with it. Add in the joys of surgical recovery, and it was a lot to keep up with. I took a good long break from posting here, have given back responsibility for most of those other pages, and I’m back again to be able to chat with you!

What have we been up to? We came back from England and have not stopped running. Both kids now have braces, we’ve had some birthdays, special trips for the kiddos activities, and Jake and Riley even performed in A Christmas Carol! Isn’t it funny how it seems we wake up one day, and the kids’ interests completely overtake the schedule? That’s where we’ve been recently. It is almost a full time job to get these kids where they need to be! 🤣

Since it’s been awhile, tell me: What’s been your favorite thing to do this fall and early winter?

They say it’s Good Neighbor Day, and that reminded me of my visit to Good Neighbor Hotels at Disneyland Resort. These hotels are an important part of the options available to you when visiting Disneyland.

My favorite was J.W. Marriott for its option to guarantee connecting rooms (subject to availability) and it’s proximity to enjoyable restaurants. I’ve determined if I need to stay in a Good Neighbor on our next visit to California, this will likely be it for my family.

I’m often asked why we go to Walt Disney World so much. There are many reasons, but one of the main ones is: It’s truly a different trip each time we go! One visit, we may be immersed in the Island feeling of the Polynesian, and the next, we wake up on a Savanna with giraffes outside our window. One trip may be full of Christmas cheer, and the next is loaded with special food options at the Food & Wine Festival.

The bottom line is, we can go so many times and not do everything. So we will keep going back. 😉

Well, it had to be goodbye at some point. We disembarked the Disney Dream today and headed back to London. We have the afternoon to enjoy before we fly home early in the morning. There were many things we could have chosen to do, but we decided to keep it simple and enjoy a traditional Sunday Roast in Cranford prior to today’s football match (Tottenham vs. Arsenal). This location is another media touchpoint for me, as I’ve been enjoying the BBC’s miniseries “Cranford” recently. The ladies of that series would truly be flabbergasted at how populated this area is, now!

I know the joke is that British food has no flavor, and in some instances, it’s true. BUT! What food they claim as traditionally theirs’ tends to be very yummy, as is the case with this delectable meal!

What a send off by the people of Portland/Weymouth! A local choir serenaded us just prior to departure, and we received a cannonball salute. Disney is so good at creating magical moments for us, but these folks took it upon themselves to do so, too. I’m not gonna lie. I cried. Multiple times. I love it when humans show us their great side!
