Visiting a cemetery during Día de los Mu***os was an incredibly moving experience. ✨ Watching families gather to honor their loved ones, sharing stories, laughter, and memories well into the night, was nothing short of beautiful. This holiday is filled with deep-rooted culture, history, and traditions that go beyond anything I had heard back in the U.S.

I can’t wait to share more about this vibrant celebration in our upcoming blog post. Stay tuned for more photos and stories about my time here and the incredible Marriott property. But for now, I’m off to soak up a little more sun and water before heading home.

Puerto Vallarta truly comes alive during Día de los Mu***os, and one of the most mesmerizing sights is seeing all of the beautiful Catrinas throughout the city. ✨ Each one, adorned with intricate face paint and stunning costumes, embodies the rich tradition and vibrant culture that makes this celebration so special. It’s a powerful reminder of honoring loved ones and celebrating life’s continuity. Walking through the streets, surrounded by these elegant figures, fills you with awe and reverence.

Last night, we were treated to one of the most breathtaking sunsets at Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa . 🌅 The sky transformed into a canvas of vivid oranges, pinks, and purples, casting a magical glow over the tranquil waters and soft sands. There’s nothing quite like watching the sun dip below the horizon, marking the close of another beautiful day in paradise. Moments like these remind us to pause, breathe, and appreciate the simple beauty of nature.

Just experienced one of the most heartwarming moments at Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa : a sea turtle release! ✨ Did you know they have a dedicated marine biologist on staff who works tirelessly to protect these endangered species? It takes about 60 days for the eggs to hatch, and if you’re lucky enough to be visiting at the right time, you can witness these tiny sea turtles make their way to the ocean and begin their incredible journey. Watching nature unfold this way is both beautiful and deeply moving. If you're planning a trip, this is an experience you don’t want to miss!

Forgot to post yesterday but yesterday was our last day and we are now off to the airport! Yesterday we explored the Vatican and all the beauty it entails! It was definitely an experience we will never forget.

We found a local breakfast shop afterwards along with a place that sells gelato inside a lemon 😋. We then ended night with pizza at the Crazy Pizza.

We are definitely sad to be leaving but we are ready to get back home to our pups!

Just had one of my favorite meals of the week at Welckers Lounge in Fish Creek! The ambiance was amazing, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch. Our waitress was dressed in the cutest 1920s-inspired outfit, adding even more charm to the experience! If you’re ever in the area, you HAVE to try their great grandma’s cherry cheesecake—it’s a must! 🍒

Day 1 & 2 in Rome 🇮🇹

Day 1: After a scenic train ride into Rome, we decided to take it easy and soak in the vibe of the city. A spontaneous tattoo session added a fun twist to our relaxed evening—now we’ve got a little piece of Rome with us forever!

Day 2: We dove right into the ancient heart of Rome, starting with the iconic Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill. The rain couldn’t keep us from enjoying the views. We headed off to see the Trevi Fountain before lunch in front of the Pantheon—views don’t get better than that! By now you should know that of course we ended the day at the cutest little gelato shop. 🍦

I recently tried my very first pierogi at Prince of Pierogi, and I’m officially hooked! This small, family-owned gem in Door County serves up traditional Polish dumplings packed with flavor. Each bite was a delicious surprise, and now I understand why people rave about pierogis!

A bit of history: Prince of Pierogi brings the heart of Polish cuisine to Wisconsin, with recipes that have been passed down for generations. 🍞🥧 If you’re ever in Sturgeon Bay, WI, you have Scaturo's Baking Company & Cafe! The food here is absolutely delicious – we loved their sandwiches and pizza, but the real star is their baked goods. 😍 Their mixed berry pie was phenomenal!

Family-owned and operated by Rob and JoAnne Scaturo for over 20 years, this charming cafe serves up breakfast, lunch, and Sunday brunch year-round. And if you’re here from June to October, don’t miss their authentic Door County Fish Boil! 🐟🔥

Their bakery shelves are always stocked with homemade specialty breads and treats like cookies, pecan rolls, and their famous cherry pies, made with real Door County cherries! 🍒

Highly recommend you stop by for some incredible food and a true taste of Door County! 👏

Our last day in Florence on our best friend/roomie trip and we packed it full of incredible memories! We kicked things off with a trek up to Piazzale Michelangelo to catch the sunrise — definitely a bit of a hike, but the views were unbeatable. Seeing all of Florence spread out below us, with the Duomo rising above the rooftops, was a breathtaking start to the day.

After soaking in the view, we treated ourselves to a stop at Vivoli for their famous affogato. Coffee + gelato = perfection! From there, we strolled through the charming streets and did a little souvenir shopping — Evangelisti is a must for their stunning scarves. We couldn’t resist picking up a few to take home.

Then came the highlight of the day: seeing Michelangelo’s David at the Accademia Gallery. No picture can prepare you for how awe-inspiring it is up close — the details, the size, everything about it left us speechless. If you’re like Geneva, you will cry.

Next, we headed over to I Magnini to make our own charm bracelets, and it was such a fun and personal way to bring a piece of Florence back with us. Highly recommend stopping by if you love unique souvenirs!

As the day started winding down, we wandered the city’s beautiful streets one last time, soaking in the history and atmosphere before heading to Trattoria ZàZà for dinner. Classic Tuscan food in a cozy, lively spot — exactly what we needed after a full day. But the night wasn’t over yet! We capped it off with some gelato from Sbrinos, which was amazing. Plus, right next to it is a vintage fotoautomatica booth where we snapped a strip of photos for just 2€. Perfect little keepsake of our time here! (Be warned the first photo snaps quickly and we weren’t ready!)

It’s my last day at @sandoscancun and a Coatie decided to visit my patio! I decided I was going to get a cute little video to share with my family back home and little. Did I know that this Coatie had different plans. this little guy was determined to get in my room. I had no idea he could actually open a door. This is why you never try to feed or pet wildlife. He obviously had been probably fed from the patio before and knew that there was food inside the room. on my visit this week I saw a lot of families trying to feed the animals or entice them to come up on their patio. This is a huge no-no and there are signs all around the property. I wanted to post this video just to show people that this is why they have signs. They are there for a reason . I have had an amazing trip and it’s only been a few short days. I am a huge animal and wildlife lover and this eco-friendly resort was right up my alley. I cannot wait to come back and bring my husband. I’ve been sending videos and photos to my family over the last two days of all the monkeys and everything we’ve seen. This property is so amazing. Hanging out at the pool at @sandoscancun and this baby monkey comes out of nowhere and surprises me with the hello! He was so playful and so freaking cute. This is just a friendly reminder that wild animals are wild and should not be fed people food, and should not be touched. So many people were trying to feed him and touch him. Not only is feeding them people food mess up their tummy but can cause other health issues, It can also cause them to rely on humans for food, instead of their natural instinct of foraging , it’s also dangerous if the mother monkey is hanging around! After a long day of walking around Athens and visiting the Acropolis, Daniel and I were exhausted! We found this little restaurant around the corner from our apartment! I ordered a table-side pasta that was to die for! They make your pasta right in front of you in a large Parmesan wheel! My son is in culinary school and said that Parmesan wheel they were using was probably over $1000! We had the whole restaurant staring at us!
