Today, Lifelong Learning Abroad celebrates our very first anniversary and looks forward to Year Two. A big "Merci!" to all of the pioneering clients who came to Paris this year. Merci to all of my Number One fans who supported me in so many ways, near and far. And thank you to all of the delightful people I've met this past year along the way. I could not name you all, you know who you are; thank you. I could not have done it without any of you, and I'm very proud of what you have all helped me build. Merci, merci beaucoup.

In September, LLA went to Arras to visit a few of the World War I battlefields and memorials. Today, we honor those buried there, and those who fought there, one hundred years ago.

To be looking
To be learning
To be lost

To the great unknown
The world’s unseen
The water untouched
It’s an impossible feat in our year

But…

To be looking
To be learning
To be lost
On my own, in my own ..

Australia is one of the most eco-friendly destinations in the world. With 85% of plants being endemic and having a 10% stake in the global biodiversity, this is truly an amazing country to see and feel. It’s also a unique opportunity to see koalas, wombats, and echidnas – all remarkable animals ...

Bonjour! Pat, seen here in September enjoying the Patrimony days at the Mobilier National, wants to come back next spring. She's a consummate stitcher (and quilter and all around needle & threader!) and she has asked me to find some kind of needle & thread class for her. If there isn't one, we'll create one for her. If you'd be interested, let us know. Or if you have your own special interest you would like to study in Paris, let me know.

Macarons, Macaroons, and your Bucketlist. Throw in a Macron, too! Here's a fun read about sweet treats and B-lists. https://bucketlistjourney.net/make-macarons-paris-france/

It was embarrassingly recent that I learned the difference between macaroons and macarons. The first being the chewy, coconut mound of deliciousness and the latter being the colorful sandwich style cookie known predominantly as a French confection. I am a fan of both. I never discriminate when it co...

From the outside looking in, Picard looks like some kind of laboratory. Peer through the windows and all there is to see is a white interior space filled with seemingly nothing at all. But there is something in there, lined up in rows around the store, you slowly begin to realize that Picard sells d...

LIFELONG LEARNING ABROAD

My name is James Benn. I created Lifelong Learning Abroad so that adults, like you, could come to Paris to study abroad. Why should the kids have all the fun? You've worked hard and now it's your turn, it's your time. Come to Paris and learn French. Take a cooking class and learn how to make a delicious apple tarte. In our workshop series, you will learn to paint, and photograph, and write your story in Paris. Wander the city, on your own, with new friends, or enjoy an organized walk with our art historians through a neighborhood or museum. We will enjoy a few meals together, and I will handle all of your logistical support needs
