Encinitas BCycle has officially launched!

"The bicycle is a simple solution to many of today’s greatest challenges - including global warming, traffic congestion and obesity. Replacing 6% of car trips with a bike would create a dramatic change in our world," said Kevin Cox, President of Bicycle Company, an Encinitas-based company that, like BCycle, is a subsidiary of Trek Bicycle. "The Encinitas BCycle program addresses more than just a fun way to get around our beautiful town, but a way to do our part in addressing some of the world’s most pressing issues."

With its smaller, kiosk-free design, the 3.0 dock allows BCycle programs to grow and expand more quickly with its wide range of station configuration options.

Since Santa Barbara BCycle launched in January in the downtown corridor, the system has doubled in size, increasing access to key biking destinations and neighborhoods.

“Since launch we’ve been able to expand bike share availability along the coastal zone with 75 docks. Boulder BCycle is on track to hit 250,000 trips this year--more than double any previous year--thanks to the addition of e-bikes and a partnership with the University of Colorado Boulder that fully subsidizes student memberships. Boulder became BCycle's seventh owned and operated bikeshare system in the U.S. this summer.

After closing in 2020, BCycle LLC reopened Greenville BCycle in February 2021 with a new, fully electric fleet. Since reopening, ridership has more than tripled from the systems last fully operational year in 2019.

DreamBikes of Madison Hosts a Fundraiser DreamBikes is a non-profit organization that places bike repair shops in low-income neighborhoods. DreamBikes hires teens in addition to providing bicycle maintenance education free of charge to help make biking safe and fun for all members of our community. DreamBikes runs on the generous donation of community members and local businesses. Watch this video to see what they have been doing in the Madison area to help local youth.
