There continues to be much confusion on the legality of vacation rentals, so here is my Maui vacation rentals update. In short ~ vacation rental condos continue to be legal and have not been shut down. Check out my latest blog post for more information.

what a winter storm! First one of the season for Maui. We had an awesome lightning storm/light show, half an inch of rain and then a wind storm which ended up knocking power out to all of Kihei. Mine has just come on again after 6 hours. We also (for a few hours at least) had a little snow at the summit of Haleakala! Did you see it?

Visiting Haleakala Summit is one of my favorite Maui experiences. The summit has reopened with 100% containment of last month's fire. Just in time for this weekend's Perseid meteor shower!

Haleakala Summit is again reopened to the public due to to 100% containment of the July 10 2024 Upper Kula fire.
