I was so excited about the view from our room 😍 … that I took pics of almost nothing else this time 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

🦓 Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge 🦓
… I have a few families staying here for spring break this year and this is what you will find:

💦 2 feature pools with water slides & pool bars, plus a playground.

🍽️ The Mara - a quick service location offering breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and drinks located in Jambo House.

🥘 3 Restaurants - Sanaa, Jiko & Boma.
Boma - buffet breakfast, lunch, dinner
Jiko - higher end dinner
Sanaa - my fave! African-inspired specialties, plus naan service. Order it.

🍷 Victoria Falls Lounge - gorgeous lobby bar, offering African wines, beer and cocktails.

🚌 Disney’s bus transportation to all 4 Disney Parks & Disney Springs

🦒Its own savannahs! You’ll see giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, antelopes and more!

🦁 Plus, you’ll find Disney Cast Members from Africa in the lobbies playing games, carving wood figures, playing African games & more!

This is a really fantastic Disney resort to show your kids a different culture, appreciate animals, try different foods and so much more!!

🍽️ What is my biggest pet peeve when it comes to planning for my guests? 🍽️

The amount of times I hear, “it’s just hot dogs & hamburgers.” Or “it’s just theme park food, it’s not very good.”

😂 I quite literally do not remember the last time I had a hamburger or hotdog in Walt Disney World. 😂

From African naan service at Sanaa, to my favorite sushi roll ever at Shiki-Sai, to shrimp tapas & tomato bread at Jaleo, to Sticky Pork Ribs & Ahi Tuna Crisps at Wailulu Bar & Grill, to a seafood tower of oysters, poke & crab ceviche at Paddlefish, there is such a huge variety of meals throughout the Disney Parks & Resorts for you and your family!

There are still so many grab & gos, quick service locations and sit down restaurants on Disney property, that we still check a new one off every visit! 🤯🤯

🎨 FESTIVAL OF ARTS OVERVIEW 🎨

I think this festival at Epcot is so underrated! There’s so much to do for arts fans from the culinary arts to visual to Broadway & more!

🍲 First, the FOOD (& drinks) of course! You’ll find 15+ Food Studios located throughout Epcot with all kinds of culinary creations from deconstructed pork belly to a candy & Dole Whip flight to a soft shell crab slider (this was my FAVORITE!) and so.much.more.

🎤 Live musical acts ranging from violins to guitars and more!

🖼️ Step into life-sized frames of famous pieces of art!

🎭 Sit down to listen to stars from Broadway sing their hits! We listened to Ashley Brown, who originated the role of Mary Poppins on Broadway! (I love this song btw 🥹)

🖌️ Take part in painting a huge mural - grab your paintbrush & cup of paint and paint your designated squares! You’ll receive a picture of the mural as well.

🧩 Find the painting in each country to match to your scavenger hunt map & earn a small prize for completing it (Sofie was so determined to find them all - and she did!)

🖍️ Find so many chalk drawings scattered throughout the Park of famous Disney characters!

🤝 Meet the artists!! Their booths are located all over Epcot, including Thomas Kincade Studios and my favorite, Dom Corona!

👗 New this year, was the exhibit within Communicore Hall - it’s filled with props and costumes from Disney’s 30 years of Broadway stories! LOVED this!!

✏️ Last but not least, join a Disney Animator in sketching your own Disney character! This was really fun, and we sat in the breeze enjoying our session with Lon Smart (he worked on Lion King, Lilo & Stitch and more!) Check out my Goofy …🤪

This is not a festival to skip! We truly had one of the most fun days in Epcot together ❤️

🎨 FANTASTIC 1st day in Epcot w/ my girls! 🎨

Headed to Epcot for a breakfast of crêpes and my mimosa (😂), then we explored the festival and its artwork for half of the countries! We will be back today for the other half! (Check out that sushi donut!)

We were poolside in the afternoon, meeting up with Frank finally (who had been down here for a conference), headed to Sanaa for savannah-side dining, then last minute decided to head to Disney Springs to check out any bands, and do a little shopping!

It was such a fun day & we’re so glad to be in our happy place together. 🥰

❄️ Such a nice weekend with family at the (Von) Trapp Family Lodge ❄️

- the girls skied, but I booked a yoga class! 🧘🏻‍♀️Yoga is offered, as well as a number of other fitness classes.
- beautiful scenery - I’ve always loved the mountains up here!
- we love exploring the lodge! There’s so many details, trinkets, pictures & more representing the Von Trapp family!
- love the bierhall/brewery! Great shnitzel & beers!
- can’t come to Stowe without a stop at Ben & Jerry’s … even if it is 9° outside 😂🥶

I LOVE THIS RESORT! I can’t say it enough.

Yes, it’s further away from the parks than other Disney Resorts, BUT BUT BUT you have the luxury of looking out onto the savannahs from your balcony (‼️), amazing dining options including one of my favorites, Sanaa, because – and such a fantastic multilevel lobby bar. Perfect for a nightcap!
