“AMABIE” is a half-human, half-fish youkai (creature) that has been transmitted to Japan in 19th Century, Edo period.
It is said to appear from the sea in a shining appearance and to prophesy such as good harvest and plague.

It is said that there is a benefit to prevent the epidemic of contagious disease by drawing its appearance

And now in Japan, among the current epidemic of the new coronavirus, various people and artists have posted and tweeted illustrations of Amabie in the net, and it is spreading.

Pls see various artists' Amabie !
