Australian Pelican (Pelecanus conspicillatus) by Pawwka. During courtship, the orbital skin and distal quarter of the bill are orange-coloured with the pouch variously turning dark blue, pink and scarlet.

As we approach the opening of our spiny lobster (crawfish) season here in The Bahamas 🇧🇸, it is essential that we do our part and follow these fishing regulations. These sustainable fishing practices will help ensure a healthy population for future generations!

Thank you to Summer Aberle of Hope Town for sharing your artwork and talent to spread this awareness! This is the project that she chose for her Bursary project with On Da Beach Bar & Grill. When we asked Summer why she chose this project, she said "I chose to create an informational poster on Crawfish regulations as a way to help educate our visitors on the importance of fishing sustainably. This was such an amazing opportunity not only to help our marine wildlife but also to incorporate my own creativity. (The Crawfish seen on the page is hand painted by me)".
