Founded in 1995 by gospel artist David Gough, the International Gospel Music Hall of Fame and Museum is dedicated to the preservation and education of gospel music and entertainment around the world. We hold our induction ceremony in Detroit, Michigan, to honor the legends of gospel, including Dr. Emily Cissy Houston, the Mighty Clouds of Joy, Albertina Walker, and Shirley Caesar. Now, we are look

ing to expand our reach by developing a world-class museum. This exciting endeavor combines interactive displays with a beautiful state-of-the-art auditorium and amphitheater, creating a welcoming place for all people to visit. Our goal is to invite gospel lovers into a space where they can leave their cares behind while discovering the legacy and power of gospel music.

Happy Birthday to 2015 inductee Reverend F.C. Barnes, born on this day in 1929 in Nash County, NC. He was a gospel singer who began singing at 14 and received a Doctorate of Divinity degree from United Christian College in Goldsboro. In 1979, he recorded "It's Me Again, Lord" with Reverend Janice Brown, leading to a recording contract with AIR Records. Reverend F.C. Barnes received several awards including the North Carolina Folk Heritage Award and was inducted into the International Gospel Music Hall of Fame and Museum and the American Gospel Quartet Convention Hall of Fame. He passed away in City of Greenville, NC - Government on July 11, 2011, after over 50 years of preaching at Red Budd Holy Church.
