Hack and Paint is an award-winning VR content creation studio focused on creating the next generation of games and experiences for VR
When we thought about creating the perfect studio, location was always an issue. Do we make a studio based in New York, San Francisco, Sofia, or Sydney? Or maybe somewhere where we can get subsidies from the government? What if some great artist or programmer wants to join us, but doesn't want to uproot his or her whole family to a new location? How do we make it simpler for the best people from a
round the world to join us? We envisioned a company that doesn't require the hustle of a daily commute to a fixed office location. After all, we are building digital products; we don’t really need to be in the same physical place. And so Hack and Paint was born: a VR content creation studio, focused on creating the next generation of games and experiences for VR. We are a team of industry veterans with experience from the highest levels of Games, Animation, and VFX production. Talent hails from companies such as Pixar, Blue Sky, MPC, EA Games, Ubisoft, Rhythm and Hues, RGB, and Tryad Games. Our members are spread across the world, currently representing Boston, New York, Los Angeles, London, and Sofia. This diversity brings unique perspectives to creativity. Furthermore, having the freedom to live and work wherever you want is also a big part of personal happiness!

SUNWALKER is a story about discovery and world-exploration, where the players create the narrative themselves, rather than being guided ‘on rails’.
The Story:
Embark on an adventure with Anne, a lone survivor in a strange world, as she traverses through scorched terrains, staying in the shadows, uncovering clues along the way, as she slowly starts to piece together what happened…
Innovation:
By leveraging the experience of our team in gaming, feature animation, VFX, and storytelling, our game offers unique cinematic camera positioning, allowing the player to be fully immersed in the VR experience. With clear visuals, fast and precise tracking, and no visual inconsistencies, players are free to comfortably explore and unravel Anne's story in the strange and beautiful world of SUNWALKER.
Freedom:
By creating an open-story experience, SUNWALKER empowers the player to create their own narrative in this strange and unknown world, by allowing them to experience the expanse of this epic VR environment, find clues about what happened, while building an emotional connection with the main character, Anne.
Engagement:
Until now, most of the VR games focus on short arcade-like experiences, rather than deep, immersive, emotional gameplay. We want to change that by leveraging our experience, working on Oscar winning titles, and apply it to the environment, characters, interaction, and adventures of our game - ultimately making immersive gaming even more immersive in VR.
