Client reviews like this make us beyond stoked!! “First time in Japan! Just WOW, I’m speechless, amazing experience that I just live riding belly deep pow with Myoko Guiding Co. I’m an expert snowboarder who came from Canada, so I’m not used to ride conditions such as Myoko where you get many meters of snow. Believe me the best investment you can do for this type of trip is to get a master buy your side while riding these mountains because there is so much details to take into consideration when you’re in that wild nature and that’s exactly what Alexys can offer you. You will quickly realize that he his at the top of his game while sharing his passion and life experience. If you want to learn and ask question that guy can feed you with information like I’ve rarely seen before, he has the map of any resort around Myoko in his head with infinite knowledge of snow condition, avalanche awareness, search & rescue and equipment needed for this type of riding.
He will find the best place for you to ride any morning, depending on the meteorological report and your needs. Trust him, and believe me, the surprise of your first couple of turns will get you the hype you expect to find!
Finally, he also has a suprising contact list of any kind in the region, and he’s well informed about the surrounded attraction and culture to add this little finale touch to your trip.

*** Avalanche Companion Rescue course***

Hey Myoko legends, starting this weekend, Shea, one of our lead guides will be running two courses; Avalanche Rescue (1 day) and Introduction to Ski Touring / Split boarding (2 days)

Here’s the info for the Avalanche Companion Rescue course;

- Sunday 21st January in Akakura
- 15,000 JPY and limited to 12 people
- All participants must have an avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe
- On foot. No skis or boards required

This is a one-day stand alone course which can be taken as an introduction to avalanche rescue, or as a refresher to brush up on skills and receive coaching and feedback.

Participants will learn the basics of companion rescue - including transceiver searches, probing and shovelling techniques, and realistic scenario practice to help improve and consolidate their skills.

Half a day will be spent inside learning fundamentals, and the second half of the day will be spent outside in the snow practising skills.
