Log drum is built with a huge gong made with a single trunk of a tree. Nagas believe that once the log drum has been completed, the plentiful harvests and good fortune will be bestowed on the village. It is also used for communicating danger to villagers, warning them of invading enemies, fires or natural predators with different rhythmic beats. In festivals, many villagers beat the drum together.
