Today I did a thing. 1st place in the Tweed valley 50k 😁 in 4:12:46. Just 2 minutes separating the podium. The 3 of us raced all day together and it was so much fun working with Arthur and Lewis.

Fueling went awesome from a carbs point at 91 grams of carbs an hour but salt intake was adapted due to lack of water. Today I used 90g gels, caffeine gels and PH1500 sachets.

Great way to finish a great year 🤙

Beautiful day out on Tuesday over the Tarmachan ridge with .skye and the pups ❤️🐾.
It feels like we have been training and recovering a lot so it was real nice to slow things down and just stop and chill at nice spots. A day like this was definitely needed.

So tonight the Martin Moran round has finally sunk in and what an amazing day it was, bloody hard but bloody special.

I want to thank everyone involved.

My wife .skye who is there every day through the grind of the training but also always there on the day, I couldn't do this as well without her.

My friend who seems to see me to the end by always being a positive sound when I'm needing help, thanks for pushing me again mate 👍.

And to 2 new friends and who's judgement I trusted knowing their mountain competence, thanks guys I won't forget this and I am looking forward to spending more time in the mountains with you ⛰️ 💪.

And also thanks to for creating this absolutely mad route. How jaw dropping beauty, harshness, rough and toughness can be married so well. Chapeau Robin 👏

I am very glad that I chose this round as my first because this place is so very special to me. I managed a time of 23 hours 17 mins which I am super happy about. For now I have no plans but to keep recovering and see where the body is in a while but no pressure to rush back.

A final massive thank you to everyone who very kindly donated money to the you will be glad to know that at the end of all the fundraising we all managed to raise £1180 which as I am told is enough to help 1 person be fully funded by the foundation. How amazing thank you everyone. It feels so good knowing that someone out there will have the opportunity to have the mountains change their life as they have done for me. 🙏

Our first trip to the Alps and what a trip it was. We spent 3 days in Chamonix enjoying food, hiking and running some of the trails. It was very cool to be able to run with and meet the mountain goat.

We started the TMB route on the Wednesday and finished on the Monday so 6 days. The route is 106 miles with 33,000ft of elevation gain and descent. This route is so special and I am so glad I did this with my wife before I race the CCC on this route.

We cannot wait to get back to the Chamonix valley to explore and run some more of the trails

I urge anyone who likes to hike or run to do this trail it's absolutely epic 🇲🇫🇮🇹🇨🇭❤️⛰️🏃🏻🏃🏼‍♀️

On Monday morning at 5:12am I set off on Tranters round solo and unsupported.

The Tranters round is a 60 year old mountain running route starting at the Glen Nevis youth hostel going over the Munros of the Mamores, Grey Corries, Aonachs, CMD and Ben Nevis equating to a total of 18 Munros and finishing at the youth hostel to close the loop. I clocked 39 miles with 19,000ft of elevation gain.

This is a round that I have had in my head for quite some time and have failed once at running it. When .skye and I had decided that Stob Ban at the Grey Corries would be our last Munro together I couldn't do the round. As soon as we had finished our Munro round a week and a half ago I was immediately looking for a weather window and Monday was the first one so I set off.

What an amazing but tough day I had. I let my carb intake slip twice which I definitely felt the effects of but I managed to get back on track. No cramping at all so I am really happy I have finally sorted my salt intake. I got to see and go over lots of beautiful mountains which in the end is why we do this, isn't it. Thanks again all the education on fueling working again.

In the end I managed a time of 13 hours 6 mins 4 secs giving me the 10th fastest male time which I am very happy with given that this round has existed for 60 years.

Running in the mountains for me like this is such an honor and a privilege. The respect I have for these very special places and to be able to move through them is bigger than words can describe. I love you mountains and thank you for being in my life.

On Sunday I was guiding Diane and Dave over CMD Arete and Ben Nevis. We had low lying clouds all day but more often than not that is expected on these mountains. The weather itself was absolutely fine with low wind and no rain so safe enough for us to set off.

With Diane and Dave being new to moving in the mountains in this way I was sure to be using the bypass trail on the Arete where possible, just to add extra safety especially with the wet rock.

On the descent from Ben Nevis we were treated to seeing some of the runners in the half Ben Nevis race, we just missed the front runners. Then we followed the trail round under the North face into the Alpine surroundings of this special place, which no matter how many times you go here it just takes your breath away.

Great day for us all. Well done and thanks guys.

It was a fantastic day yesterday guiding Ian and Gary on the Ring of Steall route. We were blessed with the perfect weather for hill running, not too warm with a breeze.

I had the pleasure of helping Ian to his 100th Munro which was Stob Coire à Chairn, an amazing viewpoint on this route. Well done Ian 👏

A couple of lessons were given along the way to make scrambling and downhill running safer and easier.

Dates are available for hill running routes all around Scotland. No matter your level there is something there for everyone. Get in touch if you have any queries.
