The thrill of discovering new places and experiences in Africa is what makes Adventure Learning and Community Development Initiative (ALCDI Uganda) such an exciting concept. Adventure Learning in Uganda is all about exploring remote, scenic wilderness area, embarking on challenging o

r exciting activities, and encountering Uganda's wildlife while getting closer to nature. ALCDI Uganda as a Non- Profit Organization works within the protected and other Country side areas of Uganda and East African region while promoting wild life and Natural resource Conservation through our community development Initiatives (HOST Projects ). ALCDI Uganda also offers educational resources and undertakes a wide variety of conservation projects not limited to Biodiversity and Wildlife conservation. Our efforts are focused on rare plants and animal species, including the highly endangered mountain gorilla, Chimpanzees, Great Apes, bears, elephants, Zebras, and Buffalos, hartebeest, Waterbuck, reedbuck, Hippopotamus, Uganda Kob among others. These conservation projects operates within Uganda and stretch to our neighboring Wild habitants in the East African region with the help of ALCDI Uganda Project Partnerships in Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda. However, Our visitors after a long adventure safari in our most spectacular parks and reserves, the Organization welcomes you to our HOST Centers in the various Districts of Uganda and then to the west in Nyakabande and Lemera the bordering homes of the organization's projects in Mgahinga and Bwindi protected areas, these are small communities six miles and 25 respectively north of the dynamic town of Kisoro. These projects do engage both the young people and the adults in communities within Uganda in various hands on skills training activities purposely for Conservation and improvement of their Livelihoods. Hands on Skills Training (HOST) Community activities include;
-Teaching and support in primary schools / secondary schools / youth groups / disabled groups.
-Vocational training / Local crafts, for example furniture -making / metalwork / brick -making / tailoring.
- Health centre work / this take the form of assistance with care of orphans / people in need / AIDS groups in the communities.
- Environmental organization; tree planting / conservation awareness / water engineering e.g. bore holes / alternative technologies.
- Work at local churches / mosques.
- Family work: fetching water / cooking / weaving mats / weeding / cultivation.
- Farming; field clearing / fencing / dairy farming.
- Women's organizations: dance drama / micro finance / small - scale trading.
