Area 56 INDIA's 1st Science Fiction Convention! We promise this convention will truly be a dream come for any cine-phile.

Area-56, By conducting this convention we hope to provide something unique to an audience that has been denied a large-scale celebration of one the most intelligent and fascinating genres witnessed in literature and cinema. The aim will be to preach to the converted and make people more informed about the brilliance and versatility of Sci-Fi as a subject. The convention will hold events related to

different concepts of Science Fiction where they will be explored in correlation to films, comics and books and other sources of media. We plan to have participatory events which are designed around the construction of a Super Hero, the emphasis of Superpowers, exploring concepts such as Artificial Intelligence, Bermuda Triangle, Time Travel and Extra-terrestrial life. We are also planning to provide a ground for discussion and debate on the status of science fiction in India vis-à-vis comics and films. We also plan on having a Sci-Fi movie lounge that shall screen a variety of some classic and some little known gems films from across the globe all through the convention. This is an important segment as we truly believe that there is a very lucrative market which can be tapped in our country if Science Fiction is properly explored and understood.
