WHO HAS THE BEST SUSHI 🍣
Looking at all the feedback from frequent vacationers of Grand Cayman. This is the most recent feedback I have received.

🍣Taikun at the Ritz hands down is reported number one! However it comes with a price 💰💰💰
🍣 Yoshi’s Sushi Cayman Is still a favorite for the price and quality.
🍣 Many folks enjoyed WOTO at the Westin.
However the following Newer Restaurants are getting some great reviews
🍣Uncle Liu Great prices and quality
🍣Freska in Bodden Town Delicious
🍣 Kojima Izakaya Fabulous excellent sushi with a ocean view

I just returned from an amazing first trip on Wednesday! I had the most amazing time!
I rented a car (never doing that again, those roundabouts are stressful!) 😂. However, it was very convenient to drive to Starfish Point and Rum Point. I absolutely enjoyed these two beaches. I love the nature part of it.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Resort Grand Cayman, and it was such a beautiful experience. While it is a few minutes away from Seven Mile beach, I really appreciated it that they had a complimentary shuttle. The service was exceptional, everything was very clean and the amenities were very convenient.

I ate at multiple restaurants and I totally enjoyed spending time at the Hotel Indigo’s rooftop, Pom-Pom. However, the best experience was at the Kimpton Sea Fire, the Library Bar by the Sea. 

I also went to the Marriott, on Saturday as they had a special Buffet featuring street food from Delhi, India.

One of the really cool places that I liked was Bonny Moon, the menu was quite interesting and the food was very good. And of course it is conveniently located on the beach.

There is also a food truck that is on Seven Mile, that had delicious jerk chicken.

I had the best lasagna I believe that I have ever eaten at Ragazzi. The service was exceptional, and the food was simply divine.

I took some time and strolled around in Georgetown, typical tourist, and I stopped at Sandbar Daiquiri Bar and Grill and I had unusual Old-Fashioned, which is traditionally made with bourbon, but they made it with El Dorado 12 year old rum which is made in my home country. It was quite delicious and made me proud!

I did not really do too many tourist things, because the whole goal was to just relax and take in the sun, sand and see. And I completely accomplished my goal.

As a Travel Advisor, I will 100% recommend Grand Cayman.

Back from a wonderful week in Grand Cayman, our second visit. Just thought I’d share some of our experience to help others planning! I’m already trying to think ahead to when we can visit again.

Accommodation: This was a fairly last minute booking and the best deal by far was Hampton by Hilton. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel, the beach was tiny but more substantial than we thought it would be, the pool area was lively and fun with great drinks and food at Ms. Piper’s, the breakfast was very tasty and the room was large and comfortable. Also beach towels were freely available which was a lovely perk! No tokens or limits on towels, you grabbed what you needed and could always have clean towels.

We spent more time at the Hampton beach than we thought we would. We usually got beach chairs and there was plenty of sand for my son to play in. The water did have rocks so we wore water shoes and that worked out great. All in all the beach was a pleasant surprise.

Beach: Our favourite beach area was Governor’s beach and we visited multiple days. It had the perfect mix of beautiful beachfront and a snorkel spot. As we were two adults and a kid who doesn’t swim yet, we had to take turns snorkeling and this spot was close enough in that we could go out on our own with a spotter - we used a flotation buoy for max visibility. There’s no chairs or shade there so we either borrowed chairs from the Hampton or used towels and our shade tent.

Snorkeling / sting rays: Our best snorkel spot was Governor’s beach by the offshore buoy. We saw lots of different fish there and a sleeping sting ray. We went out multiple times a day and just drifted around. We also enjoyed a spot just off the Hampton. You head through two buoys and straight out and hit a rock formation with lots of fish. I’ve shared videos from both spots. Our one disappointment was no sea turtles on this trip!

We did a great trip with Stingray Sailing out to visit the stingrays. We visited a lovely snorkeling spot and saw more stingrays than I could count. It was a really chopppy day so the lily pad he uses was really helpful for my kid, who was more interested in surfing the waves than the stingrays. I highly recommend Stingray Sailing, especially for those with kids!

Food: Eating out is definitely expensive in Grand Cayman! We enjoyed breakfast at the hotel, did our own lunch in the small Hampton kitchenette then enjoyed dinners out. We didn’t have a bad meal - we enjoyed Ms. Piper’s Kitchen, Coccoloba, Coconut Joe’s, Loco Cayman, Pane E Pasta and Seven Mile Burger. A shout out to D’s Pizza as well - it’s a little hut on a roundabout with fantastic deep dish pizza. All the restaurants we visited were very kid friendly with kids menus. And the splash pads in Camana Bay were a fun post dinner activity.

Rental Car: we rented from Budget and it was very positive overall. We got a very nice new car, and the process was quick and easy. We had rented from Marshall’s on our last trip and also had a positive experience, they’re in the same plaza right next to the airport. We appreciated having a car for maximum flexibility.

Airport: We were in Grand Cayman during peak spring break and there was a very long security line up. The hotel told us we needed two hours, we gave it three and thank goodness we did because it took two hours just from bag drop off till we got through security. Give yourself time during peak season!

Thank you to all of your recommendations! My friend and I just got back from an amazing 3 days in the Cayman Islands! Everything was incredible however for those planning a trip there, here are the highlights!

- Hotel- Marriot Grand Cayman was fantastic! Clean, beautiful, and in a great location! Their pool, ocean, etc. was easily accessible. Not too busy either! Bike rentals were a fun addition too!
-Must do breakfast/brunch at Tillies! The banana French toast was quite possibly the best thing I’ve ever eaten! Yoshi great sushi! Casanova for authentic Italian experience!!! So good!!
-Sunset cruise with Red Sail was a fun evening for something different!
-Starfish Point, Stingray City and Coral Gardens was a great excursion!!

It was a fantastic trip and such an easy flight coming from south Florida!!
