People who depend on wheelchairs go through a lot for travel. If you didn't know, besides just navigating the airport itself and the threat of your mobility device getting broken, this is what a lot of folks have to deal with when they get on the plane.
I have a connective tissue disorder which means that those small spaces are difficult for me to navigate as well due to joint pain and mobility issues.
Making travel more accessible shouldn't be an afterthought.

It was a beautiful day for a walk! Our horseback riding excursion got canceled because the two days prior it had rained buckets. Our kids decided to stay in the kids club that day, so we had some nice adult time wandering around the city. Avalon on Catalina Island is a really special place with miles of hiking trails and lots of shopping and eateries. I've gotten several last minute requests for travel over Christmas and New years. Unfortunately, if you were wondering if there's anything available, there isn't. If you were hoping for a screaming good deal, there aren't any. The last couple of days of storms have airports snarled and flights canceled. It's a bit of a mess out there. But if you're thinking that you would like to travel for Christmas, NOW is a great time to be thinking about NEXT year! While deals during the holidays are slim, you can usually save a fair bit of money by booking early. By getting in early, you get your choice of resort/cruise and you will be ready to book those airline tickets when they drop.

I had the best donuts I've had in years at Disneyland. This is an independent company called Strohnuts and they make dairy and gluten-free donuts. They will deliver them to you at your resort. You can pick the glazes and toppings that you like and customize your own box. They were delicious even after 3 days! Disneyland resorts require you to meet vendors for all fresh food deliveries. Last day at Animal Kingdom

I took this video in the car right before I left Animal Kingdom on my last day. I've been home now for a week and I still feel the same way I did in that overheated vehicle. Now while I don't put a lot of stock in things when people say they feel safe, feelings don't really matter right now, I will say that Disney went above and beyond with their cleaning procedures, social distancing, and masking. I was remarkably impressed. I'll say the same thing about the Marriott I stayed in (this entire time they have never had a housekeeper sick), and flying with Southwest. It was a wonderful trip and if you're thinking about a solo trip or taking your family right now, I honestly think you can do it safely. Travel right now is not necessarily easy and I think it definitely requires planning ahead, but I also think it's doable and can be done safely if your situation is right.
