We are taking moment to revel in what is the same right now — strong sweet coffee, the neighborhood trumpet player doing his morning warm ups, the sun beating down and casting shadows. So much has changed in all our lives this past week. We canceled the last two trips of our season on Thursday and yesterday all cultural venues in Cuba were closed as a precautionary measure. It breaks our heart to not be gathering our magical trips together, but this is what is called for at the moment. Take care of yourselves. Practice small acts of creativity. Dance in your kitchens. May this time make us all more aware of what we love and value. We will see you all so soon in our special corner of the world. 🌿✨☕️

Our initial trips for 2021 are live!! ✨
Next season, each of our trips will have one creative area as its focus that will be complimented by touching into all of the arts through studio & gallery visits, a wide spectrum of music, incredible food, dialogue and reflection.
We have also opened a residency program and will work in partnership with artists on some of our trips who will bring specific skills and perspective by teaching workshops in their area of expertise. These artists will add another layer to how we navigate creative fields and will get time and space to feed their own creative practices.
We are so thrilled and can’t wait to start exploring, digging deep and creating with you. Get planning!

Community and connection are such huge parts of the Cuban way of life. Time stretches in ways that allow us to be saturated in the moment. Connections feel deeper and colors are more vibrant.
On the last night of every trip, we host a large party on the porch of the Turquoise House. Artists, writers, professors and neighbors from Havana arrive. A large group of musicians gathers to play and improvise. Our community of travelers walks over in the late afternoon from their casas to join in and talk, listen, eat, drink and laugh... until late. It is a special culmination of all of the connections made both within the group and amongst our wide community of creatives.
We feel so lucky to be able to host these experiences and facilitate these connections.
Believe it or not the 2020 travel season is almost over. For those of you who are more spontaneous travelers, we have a few spots left on our March 20-27 trip. Our 2021 trips will be announced soon and we are so excited to share what's coming up!

Consider us smitten. D’Addario has always made our favorite strings and then they went and stole our hearts by sending a huge duffel bag worth of guitar strings, cables and straps to Havana with a musician and luthier who was on our last trip. We got the distinct pleasure of putting about 50 musicians over the moon with all the amazing stuff they sent down... and we still have more to give out. Donations like these are worth their weight in gold and make a huge difference in the lives of so many people. Thank you so very much . Can’t wait to have you guys down here with us. ✨🇨🇺🎸

Bienvenidos! We make sure our travelers are equipped with tips on how to get around easily (like how to catch the communal taxis called Almendrones), a custom map with our favorite spots listed and some postcards to send home. On our trip in late January, co-founder also brought smudge sticks and grounding black tourmaline as gifts for each of our guests. ✨

We got coffee with one of our future travelers today who is coming on our March 20-27 trip. Over the past few months, she made a list of what she wanted from her perfect vacation, then she read about us... Turns out we fit the bill perfectly. At the end of January, we hosted a five night writing retreat called Writing and Waking up to Place with writer and teacher . It was a dive into noticing, presence and reflection, all while taking in the intense creative energy in Havana. Here we are at one of our favorite art galleries where we started our visit with ten minutes of writing and digesting all that was around us. ✨

We’re still digesting the two magical back to back trips / retreats we hosted in the last half of January. This photo begins to describe all the connection, art and vibrancy we shared together. Taken just a few nights ago, around midnight, after a private Latin fusion jazz concert with our travelers and community... we managed to capture an artist, violinist, guitarist, writer, professor and two traveler/writer/ entrepreneurs in one shot. What an incredible collection of souls we shared time with these past few weeks! ✨🎶

Chicagoans! Save the date for Feb 7. We are coming back from Havana and popping up in the incredible TimeOut Market with flavors of Cuban art and music. Diageo will be mixing Cuban inspired cocktails, Purple Pig will make Cuban sandwiches and we’ll have sets of live music, an art studio and an atmosphere to take you to out of the cold and to creative Havana. We spent last night with a bunch of OO travelers listening and dancing to Pedrito Martinez at SPACE! Crazy beats and so much energy! We met so many more people passionate about Cuban music and just felt so at home. An amazing night that made us SO ready to head down to Cuba!!! 🎶❄️✨❤️

Havana turns 500 years old in 10 days and Turin, Italy gifted the most magical stars and constellation installation we could ever imagine. It’s installed along Galiano in Centro Habana and it just feels perfect. ✨✨✨✨🎉

Halloween eve! Vampiros en La Habana is one of our favorite classic Cuban films! Based in 1930s Havana and featuring a trumpet forward soundtrack with Arturo Sandoval — it’s cheeky, ironic, absurd and super funny. Our recommendation? Pull out the popcorn and some rum tonight or tomorrow and enjoy this film! It’s hard to find streaming or even on DVD, but the full film is on YouTube. Enjoy and let us know what you think. 🧛🏼♂️🔮🍿🥃🎶✨

House concerts are intimate, community centric and a way to experience music so close at hand. Norberto played this past weekend just outside of DC at the home of a friend who had been hosting these kind of gatherings for years. We love the people who come and the conversations that follow.
