Decanted Chateau is devoted to wine lovers in Northern California. I love to write, and drink wine, so I hope to encourage followers to take pleasure in the bounty of wineries that are close to my hometown of Placerville. "Decanted Chateau" comes from my own personal life as my husband and I have been slowly remodeling our home that was built in 1949. As weekend warriors, this "little project" is

on year number five and many of our architectural inspiration comes from local wineries. Plus, we seem to become design experts with a glass of wine in hand. So many decision making moments are compliments of wine. Besides, the word "decant" means to gently pour wine into another container so as not to disturb the sediment, but it also means, to rehouse people while their homes are being rebuilt or refurbished. While the word "chateau" is a country estate... which is what we hope to accomplish with our personal home. On a larger scale, our goal is to eventually open our own vacation rental home in wine country. Until we achieve that goal, we'll try to stay content while drinking a glass of wine.
