I'll keep this short as I can, I've been after this buck since October and just never was able to catch up with him until last night! I am so thankful to God for the opportunity to pursue these beautiful animals. (I especially love bow hunting in the snow)
I had 23 sits on him and countless hours in the pursuit! It wasn't until sit #19 last week, on the 4 degree day that I laid eyes on him for the first time and again two days later. I had him at 22 yards a couple nights back but he was facing me the entire time and it got dark and he fed off through the oaks! Coming down to the last few days of season I was still giving it my all and it finlly paid off! With an intense last few minutes of the hunt last night I was able to slip an arrow through a lane in the trees because he was about to leave due to a coyote howling but it all came together!
Of course Ive always got a shout out to my very patient wife who always understands my passion for this sport, love you babe!
