In February 2020 we welcomed YouTube travel vloggers Kara and Nate on board and brought them to Antarctica. Says Kara, "When people ask me where is the coolest place that you and Nate have ever been, my answer is STILL Antarctica." That says alot from a couple who have traveled the globe!

5 years later, they've revisited the footage and re-edited their most popular series into this vlogumentary. We hope you like it as much as they did reliving all of their Antarctic memories.

After traveling to 110 countries, our 2 week cruise Antarctica is still one BEST trips we’ve ever been on! Enjoy our whole series compiled into one big adven...

It's and today we celebrate one of the biggest reasons we travel to Antarctica - the incredible and abundant wildlife that we encounter, thriving in its natural habitat. Today, let's celebrate the wild wonders around us, no matter where we are, and EVERY DAY, let's make the effort to conserve and protect our fragile eco-systems. Every action, big or small, adds up.

"A land of ice, and snow, and cold,
Antarctica is a sight to behold.
A world of silence, and white,
A place where nature reigns, in might."

Snippet of poem by Mohammad Muzzammil

One of my favorite moments from our time bellow the Antarctic circle was once we entered the sea ice.. the combination of calm still water, and the tiles of the broken up sea ice created a perfect foreground for the incredible atmosphere and light in the background mountains of Antarctica. Today we wish The Boss (Sir Ernest Shackleton) a very Happy Birthday. We are lucky to visit his gravesite regularly in Grytviken South Georgia, share his incredible life story with our guests, and cheers him with a dram of whiskey. This year, we were also fortunate to pay a visit to Cape Rosa - the only landing site on the western coast of South Georgia and the location of Shackleton's first landfall after the harrowing James Caird voyage.

While you might journey to Antarctica with your love—perhaps to get engaged, tie the knot, or even honeymoon in this enchanting place (because, hello, penguins mate for life and give stones as romantic gestures!), the real romance lies in Antarctica itself. Each day we spend there, we fall in love with it all over again. Happy Valentine's Day!

One of those epic Antarctica days 😍 It doesn't get any better than this!

We Are All Explorers

From the minute we are born, we are born to explore. To discover the world around us, to seek out life-shaping experiences, to indulge our boundless curiosity. Adulthood and the distractions of modern life have a way of making us forget that. Antarctica has a way of making us remember.

At Polar Latitudes, everything we do, we do with a spirit of exploration in our hearts, and with Antarctica front and center in our minds. When you journey with us, you are an explorer, too, traveling to the most remote place on earth – here to explore, to discover and, quite possibly, to be changed forever. We deliver a boutique small ship experience that offers a more close-up, personal and ultimately unforgettable experience to every explorer onboard. We embrace a spirit of improvisation and wonder as we seek out unique opportunities, whenever and wherever Antarctica offers them to us. And our expedition team is chosen for both their skill and their passion. We believe they are second to none in both those categories.

Discover Antarctica. You might just discover yourself.
