Love Notes By Merci Custom and handcrafted greeting cards. Card making is my ministry! Ten years ago, we made the difficult choice to put my mother-in-law in a nursing home.

I love being about to help someone find the right card, from the shop or as a custom piece, that they will be happy to give to the one they love. It was not near my home, so I was not able to visit her often. I wanted to put a smile on her face, so I began to send her a new card each week. Her roommate began getting jealous over the gesture, so I started to send her a card as well. I would stagger

the deliveries, so they would get excited over a new card twice a week until they both passed away in 2015. I also making cards for family birthdays and special events. Eventually I started to make Christmas cards. In 2015, my husband I moved into a Retirement Center, and I expanded by making handcrafted cards for each of our 100+ neighbors for their birthdays and for Christmas. I also started teaching card classes for the residents. This prompted the idea to open a store and sell them. I really enjoy making something that I know will put a smile on someone's face. I especially enjoy custom requests which allow me to work closely with the customer to get exactly what they desire.

I saw this idea somewhere, I hope whoever came up with it gets due credit. Great idea! Our neighbor is older and lives alone so I gave her 3 colour pieces of paper for her window which faces our kitchen window. Green is for I'm OK, yellow for need help with an errand, and red for emergency. I call it Isolation Communication 🙂 Let's all look out for each other people.

WI- Cameron Police Officer Hunter Scheel and Chetek Police Officer Emily Breidenbach were shot and killed on 4/8/2023 during a traffic stop. The suspect is dead.
Officer Scheel was well-respected officer known for a caring and responsible manner; he was an Army National Guard veteran who had served in Afghanistan. Officer Breidenbach was widely known for her commitment to community, and frequent interaction with children and the department's service K-9 Grizz. She was the daughter of a police chief, and a candidate for trustee this next election cycle. She had recently been engaged to be married.
They were a son, a daughter, a brother, a sister; they were friends. They were real, with real people who loved them.
