Another beautiful weekend in Winter, WI. We continue to get a lot of rain, but that means no dust on the trail. 😉 Wildlife was out and about on our ride this morning. We saw bear, deer, an eagle, and lots of little critters.

Beautiful ride on the Tuscobia Trail to the Nine Mile Loop. We had rain recently so no dust on the trails today. Perfect way to relax and still enjoy the sights and sounds of the Northwoods after a day on the trails is the screened porch at the Happy Porcupine Cottage! Come stay with us!

Finished the weekend with a hike at the Flambeau Forest trails near the Happy Porcupine Cottage. Weekend sightings of bear, deer, cranes, swans and many types of ducks and of course a porcupine! Tried to find the elk but did not see them this weekend. Could hear the owls and woodpeckers but didn’t see them. This area is a true slice of heaven!

Traffic jam near the Happy Porcupine Cottage this morning! I couldn’t get my phone up in time to catch the two Toms strutting in the middle of the road surrounded by at least five hens. So cool to see!

What a beautiful morning for a hike at the Ojibwa County Park Turkey Feather Nature Trail. It was a bit wet due to the much needed rain - rubber boots were necessary today. What an amazing experience to savor the sounds of the birds while enjoying the dazzling views.
